When I was 16 (2001) I bought a 1995 XR200r. I’m now 38 and all summer long, i ride it every single day. I’m a farmer so it always takes me to the fields and pastures. Starts first kick and is as reliable as death and taxes! Love that bike!!!

I am 60 and I bought a new xr200 in 93 it has been nothing but fun. I use to ride with guys that had two stroke race bikes they were always amazed that I could keep up with them in the woods

Beautiful bike. 2002 was the last year for the xr200. Definitely a machine worth buying. These 200’s where everywhere when I was a kid in the 90’s.

Had an 01 that needed top end rebuild, fork seals and wheel bearings. Once I had it back together and pulled the silencer , I rode the hell out of it. Never did it miss a beat. Whoever gets this gem will have SMILES FOR MILES! Definitely buy over new garbage.

I was about 13 yrs old when my two best friends dad came home with two 2002 ttr90s and a 02 xr200 fresh off the showroom floor for their birthdays. When they outgrew the Ttrs my friend Scott began riding his dads xr200 and absolutely ran it into the ground. Bolts missing, forks leaking, bent wheels and broken spokes you name it. So from about 2006 all the way till about 2 months ago that bike sat in the back of their funeral home till his dad asked if I could get it running. A quick clean of the carb and it fired right up. I went right through it trying to bring it back to as close as I could within reason to what it looked like when it was new. Doing It brought back a bunch of memories the bike still had two hooks on the rear fender bolts we must’ve used to pull a sled with it or something at one point lol.

Had a 1981 XR-200 with a bench flowed head on it that I raced harescrambles with as well as many many hours of woods riding on it ! The only thing that killed it was when I decided to race motocross on it for almost half a season in a woodsman class in DISTRICT #7 until I ended up breaking the frame in six places 😳🤣 Didn't know whether to cry or laugh when I discovered the massive damage that I DID to it . That little bike wasn't the fastest or even had good suspension on it but sure was a great and extremely reliable and nimble bike to ride ! My nickname I had for it was ONE KICK ! 99 % of the time that XR would start with just ONE KICK 💪😎

My first motorcycle was a 2002 Honda XR200R and yes, I really DID unwrap it next to the Christmas tree that year. I had learned to ride on a 1973 Honda CL100 in our backyard and this was a BIG upgrade. Leading up to Christmas morning, my dad had done a lap or two in our backyard (when I was at school) and had accidentally spun the tire while letting the clutch out on our deck and I had noticed the mark and wondered where it came from. I was convinced that it had not been from the CL100 because it was a bigger mark than what it could've done. He had to say it was from the 100 to not spoil the surprise. I still had no idea about the new motorcycle though and did not see it coming. Needless to say, it was the best Christmas gift ever and my parents completely wrapped the entire bike up next to the Christmas tree inside the house. The factory muffler had a unique "chirp" from the spark arrestor whenever you'd let off the throttle or decelerated. I never modified that bike in any way unlike the bikes I own today. It was 100% reliable, I took very good care of it and yes, the build quality was high. I can still remember months after Christmas not fully believing it was truly mine seeing it in the garage. It had a unique "new bike smell" that lasted quite I while and I still can smell it. Many dirt bike trips with dad on that bike!! The bike that I replaced it with was a Honda XR650L.

Honda doesn't make bikes like this anymore sadly. I cant even stand Honda vehicles! Yamaha is prob biggest maker of every kind of new machine these days + KTM/GasGas group.

That xr 200 are still popular in the philippines..so as DT125s..KMX125s Honda XLR200s..still precious machines..lots of available parts too for trail ridin..most dirtbike enthusiasts always got a place in their hearts for classic dirtbikes.❤

I live in the philippines, XR200 was phased out since 2010. Most XR's today are modified to CRF which is sad to see and right now I'm restoring my father's XR make it all stock and brand new, i always love this machine since i was 12

It's amazing how similar that engine looks like the one in my 1984 ATC 200 three wheeler! That's a kick A$$ little motor! I've hauled a LOT of fire wood with my ATC 200. I always liked these older designed Honda 4 stroke singles. The new owner is going to enjoy this. Thanks for showing! Also, I am curious if you guys can do a video on your "junk" cycles also. I'm sure you have a hidden gold mine of parts/ restoration bikes some where.

That thing is insane. You never see them with the baffle in the muffler anymore. And the additional baffle tip is what Mr. Kaplan would call unobtainium.

There’s actually another tiny holed cap that’s held on by two bolts that is missing from what I could tell. I recently bought a 2001 xr200r all original except bars and chain. It still has that part on the original exhaust.

That's a big problem all these companies are making things in China now I know you had a Schwinn bicycle as a kid Ken and it was made in Chicago Illinois wasn't it let's start making stuff in America Mexico Italy England anywhere but China Husqvarna motorcycles were made in Sweden that's just quit making stuff in China we don't need to make stuff in China we need to make stuff in other countries Mexico Canada USA Italy different places anywhere but China sometimes I wish I was the kid so I could see how long it would take me to bust one of those new twin frames probably about as long as it would have took a huffy back in the day which one frames you couldn't break them back when they were made in Chicago they did not break your bent rims but you didn't break the frame anyways yep that's a beautiful Honda XL running forever quit making stuff in China that's all I have to say about it let's make America and the other countries great again
