The nostalgia of buying one and breaking down in the middle of nowhere and have to figure shit out is the reason. I got one and broke down in aspen colorado. Got rid of it after a year. Good times

I owned a 2002 Discovery Series II. I bought in 2005 with 45000 miles on odometer. It was was certified pre owned. It was British Racing with tan leather interior and was loaded. It even had the grill guard and guards over the rear lights. I got a 2.9% interest from Rover because it was certified pre-owned. It was absolutely unreliable and expensive to maintain. I thought the car was beautiful, but once I got it paid off, I could not get rid of it fast enough. I had to put a second engine in it. At 62,000 miles it needed a short-block. I was getting it serviced only at the dealer and was not driving it hard. Of course, my certified warranty went out to only 60,000 miles and Rover would not work with me. Where I kick myself, I could have paid the dollars to extend the warranty to 100,000 miles. I would have paid for that warranty many times over had I done it, because of its mechanical needs.

Just got one 2002 with 140k KM. Head gasket seems to be fine so far but there’s a slight leak from the valve cover due to age of the gasket Wish me luck on this journey everyone 🤞

Great vehicle, You need to oil the underside before it rots away on you. The rear frame looked pretty bad.

@@blakewilliams9642 I can believe it! Sometimes, the worst can also surprise you! I had a, *cough cough* 2003 Jaguar X-Type 2.5 AWD with a 5-speed manual. I was told that it’ll be the absolute WORST car you’ll ever buy. Ended up being the best car I’ve ever owned! I put 200,000 miles on it, never had an engine or transmission failure, even the AWD system worked flawlessly. Just kept maintenance up and it ran like a top! To this day, no one believes me.
