13:25 I highly doubt those buttons are for shifting lol. Atleast in my e mercedes those same buttons are for changing the radio volume
@AbaiGTAPlus7 жыл бұрын
TheTurtleOffDoom That's right. You nudge the gearstick to shift if you have a tiptronic gearbox, you don't use the "+" and "-" buttons.
@WestSide12077 жыл бұрын
Derek, those -/+ symbols on the steering wheel are not for shifting, they just adjust the volume for the stereo.

Why are Japanese vehicles in better condition and less expensive You will find Japanese vehicles have lower kilometers, cleaner bodies, are maintained better, and are in better overall condition. Performance Japanese specifications on many models is higher then the world market versions of these vehicles. You can often find higher power, lighter weight, stiffer suspension, and more optional equipment. Selection Japan has a large selection of vehicles from its domestic market, plus vehicles from all over the world. You likely will find rare vehicles here.

What is the box under the headlights switch? Noticed a lot of vehicles in the videos have them.

I think you are referring to the ETC box. You put in a card and it charges your road tolls to your credit card.

The Jeep Wrangler and the MBZ G Wagon simply same.
@gosportjamie7 жыл бұрын
+Harry Tran I don't know where you heard or read that one, but it is totally incorrect. The only similarity between the Mercedes-Benz G and the Jeep Wrangler is that their original iterations were as military vehicles (the Willys GPW and the original Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen from, I believe, 1976 which was produced for the German and Austrian military to replace the Volkswagen Iltis.) The G-wagen is produced in a factory in Austria and is the only Mercedes-Benz vehicle produced there and shares no components with the Jeep Wrangler at all, although Mercedes-Benz is now part of the Daimler-Chrysler group and do share major components with Chrysler products (chassis, engine, drive train Mercedes-Benz E-class and Chrysler 300C and also Mercedes-Benz SLK and Chrysler Crossfire for examples.) It is not, however, cost-effective for Daimler-Chrysler to increase production facilities for G-wagen components and the current production level of components is absorbed by the production of G-wagens for which new demand continues to massively outstrip supply to the point where, globally, the order-to-delivery time for a brand new G-wagen remains at around 2 years, unless you have serious clout with the management or you have ordered one of the limited production 6-wheel drive G-wagens, in which case the waiting list is somewhere in the region of 5 to 6 years and there isn't actually any guarantee you'll ever get one at all as they have far more orders than there will be vehicles produced, even if they extend the production run AGAIN...

It's always amused me that a vehicle originally developed and produced solely for the military became, and continues to be one of the biggest must-have vehicles for the conspicuously wealthy. They truly are amazing vehicles off-road though, but I'd rather have an older one with the 3-litre 5-cylinder diesel engine and a 5-speed manual box. And the factory option Recaro front seats as you really need them at the side-slope angles these things can traverse, with the standard seats you tend to end up plastered over the side window which isn't really conducive to safe driving. I hope the new owner in Canada rust proofs the hell out of this one every year as these things can rust as badly as '70s Land Cruisers...

What would be avrg ballpark price for one of these shipped to US ?
@PacificCoastAuto7 жыл бұрын
They have to be 25 years old to ship there and although the G-class started in 1979, there are not many old ones in Japan. It seems that $15,000 USD is the starting point for the 25 year old ones but expect to take longer to find one.

I like your detail laden videos but this G is ceratinly not the 'L' model. this is a regular long wheel base model or the 5 door. The G from late nintees to mid 2000s came in three wheelbases, The SWB(short) or the three door, the long wheelbase which this one is and the 'L' which probably came only in G55 iteration. The G55 'L' had same wheelbase as the LWB but had longer rear overhang. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Mercedes-Benz_G_55_AMG_extralong.jpg i.wheelsage.org/pictures/a/amg/mercedes-benz/g_55_l/mercedes-benz_g_55_l_amg_1.jpg
