When importing a car under the 15 year old rule, does it have to be 15 years from the month of manufacturing or as long as its (for example) 2018 you can import a car from 2003?

Here is what transport Canada says; "The following circumstances allow people to import vehicles from a country other than the United States:" - "The vehicle is 15 years old or older, based on the month and year of its manufacture" So my question is how do we find out the month of manufacture? I never seem to see it on the auction sheet.

According to what I've found is that you can use a VIN decoder and that will tell you the month of Manufacturing but I can't find the VIN on the auction sheet either.

The auction sheets have the VIN. It can be a bit tricky to find sometimes though.

It's done by a bot. It happens all the time on my channel, none of which should ever be flagged. If it mistakenly picks up swearing or content they don't approve of, it get's flagged. Dumb system.

(Andrew) When did you send your emails? Our office is closed on the weekends, so there wouldn't have been any immediate reply if it was on Saturday or Sunday. Also, I handle most of the new inquiries and was out of the office all day on Monday this week. I've been working my way through the inquiries now, but haven't quite finished them all yet. Every email that gets sent to us gets a reply, but sometimes that takes a little longer than we'd like.
