Speaking of tyres, I always wondered why HRT was sponsored by bridgestone all the way until the end of 2011, almost an decade after not using Bridgestone, why?

I believe all HSV cars used Bridgestone tyres which is probably why that partnership between Walkinshaw & Bridgestone lasted so long

@@jakesaddo Oh ok, it is just weird seeing HRT cars with bridgestone sponsorship in 2011, they stopped using Bridgestones in 2001.

@@jakesaddo the meaning of a control tyre is that everyone uses them. everyone was on dunlops.

@@nathanhigginson6256 You are correct, with a Control Tyre being used since the start of 1999. 199-2001 the control tyre was Bridgestone, and since 2002 the Control Tyre supplier has been Dunlop Before 1999 teams were allowed to use whichever tyre they liked Perkins & DJR used Dunlop's, HRT used Bridgestone, Gibson's used Yokohama. The key to this discussion is since HRT/HSV had a long running relationship with Bridgestone that is why Bridgestone continued to sponsor HRT well into the Dunlop Control Tyre era
