My first car was a used E39 530D - absolute joy to drive! You see less and less of them every day though (probably due to all those dumb, new EU regulations + the car getting up there in age)... Edit: Zeitloses Design ;)

same same here. e39 530dA teuer zum unterhalten aber ein charakteristisches und unbeschreiblich geiles auto. i fahre dieses auto jeden tag und denke mir „wow hab ich dieses fahrzeug verdient?“. wenn man ihn etwas in stand haltet (vorbesitzer waren raucher und nicht pflegeorientiert) und optisch bissl was macht, dann ist es ein monster wovon man sich nicht mehr trennen möchte.

Typical E39 headlights, the reflective surface on the inside usually burns out but replacing with something aftermarket really makes from night to day.

Very slow acceleration for 3.0 and 6 cylinder engine. Probably automatic gearbox is rubbish.

Automatic was in these years always 1sec slower. But its absolutely ok, would always prefer than manual. Manual only on M5(bc no other option)😝
