That is exactly what my 2005 suburban is doing. Guy called himself replacing the switch and my battery light stays on while the truck is off. Exactly what you shown here!!! Thank you so much. I now know what the issue is.

@@806thecrew6 Yes, thanks for showing the misalignment issue. I managed to get it wrong in each direction before getting it right. That bottom clip sure is a PITA. I didn't think it could be done with only two hands and cut the socket open on the old switch.

Great video! I have a question......i replaced the ignition switch as shown, but the ignition switch starts the truck in the on position on the switch, not the lock cylinder, what's the possible issue

As in when you turn the key to the in position is when it starts to crank? If so you have to adjust it to where it’s center by turning the little gear left or right

@@806thecrew6 so say if I manually turn the ignition Switch notches, from accessory, then to "On", that's when the truck starts right up, and the starter never shuts off

@@806thecrew6 I swapped it out because at first I wasn't getting any power to the starter, but once I swapped it out per your video, this is what happened. I went back to make sure I followed your steps verbatim.

As in the vehicle will start then then turn off immediately? Sounds like you have a security problem

But you're not telling us does the switch ignition switch have to be all the way on before we cranky or do the key have to be all the way on your not letting us know

It has to be all the way off, make sure your key position is also off.
