Owning this exact model Lexus GX nowdays would be the smartest thing to do as opposed to buying it brand new, considering it used to cost almost $60k fully loaded and now can be had for about $10k. These things are tanks that last forever if well cared for.

Mine is coming up on 175,000 Miles in december, taking her in to have new tires put on and fluid changes. Mechanic and serviceman that have been working with us since 2004 have said that she will last at least another 90,00 miles. We had to replace the air suspension this summer (2016). it was the first time it had to be replaced. Based off of the service history of this SUV/Truck, i can say that the air bag suspension in the rear failed after a LONG period of time and after plenty of abuse. Essentially, most of the parts replaced over more than 10 years have been a beltl, rear airbag suspension, and a few electronic fuses and accessories in the cabin. In summary, without adding more information, the Lexus(Toyota) 2003 GX470 i own and drive daily is a reliable vehicle for owners who want to have luxury and comfort as well as utility and reliability. Even if it is a full family with dogs and luggage to and from vacation spots/airports, or towing large loads/boats to and from work sites and homes; the 2003 Lexus GX570 has served us very well for more than 10 years. I am proud to be an owner of this vehicle and a member of a small community of people who visit my local dealership. If anyone cansave the money these days i would say get a tesla; but to this day and into the future i will maintain and appeciate this monster of a SUV. compared to the current GX models (the plastic, smaller versions), i feel my 2003 gx470 is superior in terms of reliability and utility use. hope everyone who got this far is alright with my comment and if you have anything to add about your GX470 let me know, thanks !

Same plant as the 2010-present GX 460, LX570/600, Land Cruiser (100, 70, 200, 300), Prado and 4runner, as well as the Hilux and fortuner. Only the North America only trucks and the Sequoia are not built there.

this is the lexus version of the Prado if I'm not mistaken... or Land Cruiser 120 as it was sold in Europe. I find the LC120 more aggressive looking, kinda better looking overall

Sometimes, like my '05 Avalon Limited, have a cassette button, but doesn't have the player. Mine has Satellite radio, FM, AM, and an in-dash 6 CD Changer.

U're right about the LX (based on Toyota Land Cruiser 100 series), but this GX is based on TLC Prado (TLC 120 Series). 4Runner is completely different car.

Yeah, because Prado isn't sold in your market I suppose. You can look in the youtube itself. Prado is exactly 95% of this GX. Also, 4Runners are not sold here in the Middle East. So I got no idea about those. However, I have seen few imported 4runners here but they look like bigger sibling of the Toyota Rav4.

It's a five speed automatic transmission, the shifter is just covered with a leather shift boot. And the second lever is for 4WD modes.

hi, im from europe ( italy ) ... i dont understand why a luxury suv like this one still have a cassette player instead of a cd player. this is a 2003! yet, this car has a good hi-fi system, so the cassette player is just "useless" . i just noticed, watching all the kyle's videos, that american cars keep the cassette player also in recent cars ( 2003-2004 ) and i just cant understand why
