I have to say, great how to vid. Helped a lot. All 4 mounts on my little salvage yard neon were broke. Center passenger side was a pain! Cured all vibration and shaking. Thanks for the time you put in for the vid.

​​@@method9706 Yeah the center one is a pain I am in the process of changing the mounts but I was afforded extra room because I was also doing the timing kit as well

You asked, “where’s my fucking shit”....I’ll tell you, it’s in between your ears!! JUST KIDDING! Excellent video, man. A real life saver. I used it step by step to replace my mount on my 2003 SXT. I just finished up! The only thing I did differently was rather than take the old mount out through the bottom, through the wheel well, I removed the battery tray support frame and took the mount out through the top. I absolutely could not get my transaxle to come towards the front of the car to give enough room to drop out the old mount. You must be stronger than me! It was four bolts and one nut to remove the battery tray frame and the old mount came right on out through the engine bay and the new one dropped right in. Set the new one in, installed the battery tray frame, tightened all battery frame bolts and nut, and then installed the bolts for the new transaxle mount. Thanks again for the video!!!!!

This day 4/8/17 he was working on a 2003 Dodge Neon, & your video was right on point to the tee! Lmao he had removed the battery cover to get to that transmission mount. Awesome video! It helped a lot on my 2005 neon. Pretty much all the mounts were toast by 170k miles. Transmission mount came out from the top side though. I couldn't get it through the wheel well. Thanks!

Do not forget to toque the bolt so they do not snap or strip out. Over tightened bolts on mounts will make the go bad sooner and also the lug nuts to 100 foot pounds

I find it easier to remove the battery tray frame and get it out of the way. You can even bolt the large long bolt to it before installing in the car. Then bolt the battery frame in place. Remember to keep all bolts loose to be able to move everything around and then tighten it up.

My question to you is this: How did you diagnose this problem. I've replaced every engine mount in my Neon, and every so often, I'll hear a clunk when I shift it into drive or reverse. I assuming it's the tranny mount, but I also hear the clunk when I drive over cracks in the road or small filled in pot holes.

engine was running cattywampus so i looked at the motor mounts and they were trashed

could be your rack and pinion going bad or your steering terminals. Also check brake calipers. I used to have this problem, whenever i drove forward then stopped and went to reversed i heard a semi loud single beefy clank.

Just line up the holes. I havent done the tranny mount yet but ive done all 3 passenger side motor mounts.

Does anybody know what size the bolts are for the transmission to block?(not the long center bolt, the smaller ones), I bought a neon, went to replace the mount, and realized whatever idiot put in the new engine only put two bolts back in. Have found a few different sizes, mines a 2004 SXT.

What a joke. Do not have to remove the tires ,just raise the body a little .Trans mount comes out the bottom.
