From someone in the paint and body field for 20 plus years, you did an excellent job. Perseverance is key when doing any project as you well know, and you kicked butt on this one. The truck looks fantastic. Always enjoy your videos and this one was in my area of "expertise" and I can fully appreciate the effort you put into tackling this project. Nice job as always! Keep up the great work!!

I spent about 15 years doing mechanic work in a body shop. You did great, the pros get runs and dirt nibs also. A lot of the time they have to wet sand and buff before the vehicle leaves. Give yourself a pat on the back! It looks good!

Yessir, similar story. Hit a deer half mile from home with my little red 98 S10, smashed out the grill. That was all that happened to it. However, the funny part is, my son hit a deer, same spot, 3 days prior in his Sentra, took out the grill, both headlights, markers, warped the hood in half, smashed both fans, bent the radiator support. We pulled that out with a come-a-long, replaced the other parts from a junk yard. He and I worked nightly on that thing sanding it all down, and we prepped and painted it, in my garage, using that same gun you have. Never painted a car before in my life. It turned out pretty well for amateurs, but there were mistakes. It was an awesome father son project! Thanks for posting all the fun stuff you are doing.

You did a great job. I’m a backyard painter myself. One thing I didn’t notice that would help, a ventilation system. Even if it’s cold outside. Warm the shop before hand, cut some type of ventilation system on. Also either cover the floors with plastic or wet them down a little bit. Leave the heater running the entire time. I took a panel out of my garage door, put a box fan in the middle. Covered the rest of the hole with plywood. Bought a couple of paint booth filters, raised my 2 windows and cut the filters to cover the open area. Works great for me anyway. Just a idea. I paint with the same harbor freight gun. But,all of this is just stuff I learned painting in the same garage’s that I did mechanic work in. You did a great job!

I’ve had to do that a couple times over the years with my rigs! Saves some money doing it yourself ….made some money off the insurance companies also! They write me a check for the estimate of a body shop and I’ll get it fixed up as long as there’s no structural damage! I’ve known a couple people that’ll make a living off hitting deer , getting a repair check from insurance , only fixing it enough to make it road worthy and drive it some more! 😅 That’s a dang good job painting too!

It looks like a good time to put an electric fan on the radiator instead of that 'ingenious' fan they had on there from the factory.. : ) Edit: WOW!! Truck looks really good Chad! For a garage job at night in 2 days, that paint really came out really great!! Awesome!

I did a commissioning job on the prison complex west of Richmond. VA. One morning the apprentice plumber comes onto site with the front end of his truck caved in (worse than yours). 'Hit a deer". 7:00 rolls round and no sign of the foreman plumber (he's normally pretty regular). 7:20 and he rolls in with something covered in a tarp in the back of his pickup. "Took me 20 minutes to drag that sucker up in the truck". You guessed it.

i am 59 years old. i had lasik about 15 years ago. the dr did cataract surgery and did the lasik while he was at it he said it only took a few more minutes to do that. i had wore glasses all of my life until then and then i no longer needed them. i do have 20/20 vision between both eyes together but not in each eye. i had no problems with that except i had to wear sunglasses most of the time. even inside and had to use eye drops for awhile for dry eye. its awesome to not have to wear glasses. i do wear reading glasses sometimes. but the surgery was about 15 years ago.

Hi, Chad. I had Lasik surgery in 2000. Had a bad astigmatism and it corrected it. Did a great job and I am sure the technology is better than it was in 2000. I would go for it if you are a candidate. Just my two cents' worth. Hope this helps,. My procedure was $3K out the door and that included follow up visits and all. Took about 8 days before everything seemed normal vision-wise. First my left eye would be 20-20 and the right one a little out of focus, then vice-versa. That was annoying but not too bad. Then, they all clicked into place, and it's been awesome ever since. I need readers now because I am 54 but I love not being attached to glasses or contacts.

When I was a kid, friend of mine crashed his Lincoln Town Car. We couldn’t figure out how to get the core support out to replace it, so we hooked a come along to the back bumper of my Lincoln and cranked her out! We scabbed that front end back together from a bunch of different junk cars. If we would’ve known what we were doing, we would have swapped the whole front clip, but we were like 17 and 19 at the time driving twenty year old luxury cars. It was great though, doing all that ourselves. And LEARNING like Chad says. Miss those times.

I am a former deer hunter (now disabled).that traveled from central floriida to the hunting camp (2000 acres) in south east Georgia. (I am now disabled). I hit a deer once, insurance also totaled my truck which I also purchased back and fixed. Insurance totaled it cause it's a 2002 F-150. so I bought all the parts I needed at a junk yard off a 2000 F-150. I wound up making $1,800 on the deal. That deer was a 6-point buck.

Some really good music playing at 47 minute mark. I’m with you on it being all one color. A deer hit me, ran it to side of an old Mercedes I was driving at the time. Knocked deer out. Got snot on rear door, didn’t even dent door, but it was a Mercedes. Painting ain’t that hard to do, mixing paint might be another matter. I’ll agree learning is a process that never ends. Enjoy your channel

Great job bud and thank you for your content and your entertainment but I wanted to leave a comment because of what you did at the junk yard and that is when you didn’t cut the wiring. I do the same thing and my friends always say just cut it or just rip it off but then I think to myself that even if I don’t use that particular part don’t mean someone else can’t use it. And that’s what’s wrong with people today no one thinks about the next guy and to me the world has gotten selfish and cruel so thank you bud for being a good human not many of them left

I've done and seen others do real well with tractor supply implement paint & hardener.your truck looks perfect from here. Central California watching.
