Today I took my suprercharged 2003 Mach 1 Mustang to get a dyno tuned. I am very happy with the dyno numbers on my 2003 Mach 1 and happy with the service from Mike Post at DynotuneMP. In this video you can hear my ported Eaton supercharger really scream!

I remember the first time hearing a mach 1 with an opened up exhaust... the best sounding mustang of that generation (and I am a cobra fan). Add a roots style blower whine and I would never let off lol. Congrats on having a beautiful monster and thanks for the informative video.

My '32 has a twin turbo 4.6 4v with a C.R=8.6 running 8 lbs of boost. I run a maximum timing of 17*. I could run more boost and timing, but the engine overpowers the tires. I also have a 4R75W. Your car will be quicker with the auto and it won't break. The 9" rear costs 3% power, and 8.8 about 2%. Pull the 1-2 accumulator spring out, put in a mild converter, and blister the track. Very nice build.

Great Job Mike. Great video. Those are great numbers and I mean all the numbers like AFR and timing. My guess of just over 500 was reached by comparing it to my red terminator that used to be ported eaton and stock less aggressive cams that made 512. I agree its all in the tune being conservative and thats great, My bullitt make 520 but it was on a more conservative tune for years at 440 wheel so I know thats a great amount of power to enjoy.

I'm really happy with the numbers, the engine made what it made, but the tune was where I wanted it to be. The car feels very strong which is what I wanted. Boost seems to be hitting 13.8 which is good. Thanks for watching Justin!

I was close @ 420 but no cigar. my 5.3 stroker without a supercharger put down 375. that is through the 4r75w, 10.6 to 1 compression and 4.10 gears. also have a protorque stall converter. losing about 18 - 20 %. keep in mind that your mach is lighter than a lot of the other high HP cars out there. Charger with the scat pack weighs 4400 lbs without the driver. your car should run low to mid 11's with a good sticky tire. I've run a best of 11.70. Nice work.

Ouch...does that graph only show 9.5ish psi? Those are also STD numbers so SAE is in the 430's.

@@MikesGarageRoute66 yea my estimate was 13-14psi for your setup. It would've made low 500's if it saw that psi. Why do you think your gauge would be reading higher?

Mine read 13.8 and the Dyno showed 10. But I think I figured it out how I screwed up from a comment pwrshot had. He mentioned the torque converter loss and I had an oh crap moment. In the quick 4 controller I was in dyno mode, but I didn't lock the converter. How much do you think I lost with an unlocked 3k stall torque converter? "dyn = Dyno Test In status mode, double-clicking the function knob will activate or deactivate Dyno Test mode. When activated, dyno test will scroll for 2.5 seconds, then return to the status screen with the addition of an "L" in the center of the display. This mode enables manual gear selection and prevents unwanted up and down- shifts. This is for diagnostic use and for commanding a specific gear while operating your vehicle on a dynomometer. No additional connections or configuration options are required to use dyno test mode and the desired gear can be selected by rotating the function knob clock-wise to up-shift or counter- clockwise to down-shift. Torque converter clutch engagement can be commanded with a single-click of the function knob while in Dyno mode. The "L" in the center of the display will change to a "t" when the converter clutch has been manually engaged. Another single-click of the function knob will turn converter clutch engagement off. We have programmed a safe, minimum engine RPM into the controller, and converter clutch engagement will not occur, even if manually commanded, until this engine speed is reached."

@@MikesGarageRoute66 locked vs unlocked isn't going to change your psi. I was on his dyno back in 2016 but tuned by Tim Barth not by Mike. We ran the car with the converter locked and unlocked. Unlocked it made 437. Locked it made 452. I don't lock at WOT, only on the dyno.

I haven’t run it yet since it’s been built. Probably some time next year when I get better tires. Also going to up the boost. It should run 10.8 in the quarter.

@@MikesGarageRoute66 that’s pretty good. I ran an 11.4 on a pretty spent 275/50/15 NT555R. Had better 60’ with a new American Racer 295/50/15 but the stock diff was giving out and started getting real snaky on me. Not trying to put it in the wall I had to let off every run. The controller I have with the 6R has a trans break but it only holds until about 2,600 RPM with the stock mustang converter. I put a cobra diff in with 3.73s now. With a 3500-4K stall converter I think I can hit a 10 with my power level.

The car had a 3650 for most of its life. I put in this built 4R70W which is a blast. I have a stand alone controller which is an absolute blast. Currently I have it shift at 6500 RPM's and have a manual mode setup as well. Manual mode is 1, 2, and Drive is 3 and only 3rd gear. I also have the converter unlocked and overdrive disabled in manual mode.

I was hoping for more as well. I think if the converter was locked and it had 22 degrees of timing it would have hit the 500 mark. I’m seeing 13.8 pounds of boost and on the graph the hp flattens at 5500 rpm the exact same as the ported pulled cobras did. The Eaton was at max effort. Maybe I’ll do another pull later on. Awesome setup. This is how I would want to do my 03 MACh. What was the RPM at peak torque? Can’t read the screen very well.
