2003 Suzuki SV650 starting issues

Hey y’all, I have a 2006 sv650 having the same issue, one day I stalled it avoiding a car and ever since then it hasn’t been able to start on it own unless I bump start it, I just replaced the battery and all that happens when I try to start it is a clicking sound that happens almost immediately as I push the ignition button. Could it be my starter? I just bought the bike so it’s sorta just discouraging and I’ve asked for help from others but would like some more insight, anything helps

I have the same year, make, model. It cranks but wont stay on. Replaced spark plugs, battery, cleaned out the tank, checked and cleaned the fuel injectors too. I only get the C00 error code now as well. Lifted the kick stand and made sure the bike was in neautral when starting it. It just wont idle. Works well when sprayed with starter fluid but will die eventually. Also removed and cleaned the fuel filter/pump as well. Any help and opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

@@lucaswhite5318 Yes. The fuel pump needed cleaning. The tank was also cleaned of sulfur that built up from the gas. Had to switch the filter from the new faulty chinese made fuel pump onto the OEM fuel filter. The bike fired right up and idled like new.

So there is a couple things I would check. 1) is the motor seized? 2) is the starter bad? (try bump starting it) 3) is the clutch switch faulty? 4) is there a preprogrammed thing to not allow the bike to start without fuel? and lastly, put fuel in it! You'll burn out the fuel pump if you keep cycling it without fuel.

I had the same problem and it was the starter , I replaced only the starter brush

Yes, the spark plug was left out for a couple years and there was corrosion that had seized the piston after hours of diesel and ATF in the cylinder and working the crank it broke free and ran great.

@@kylemiller774 ah mine clicks when turning key and does start after a while so thinking mine could be starter.

Yes I did thanks it was the starter relay...all good now :)

Did you try putting gas in it? 😂😂
