The technical term of what you did for diagnostics is called a "cylinder balance test". Often times mechanics would connect a portable tachometer and record the RPM drop as each cylinder was deactivated. As you mentioned there would be no RPM drop if that cylinder was not doing any work, or only a slight one if it was at least doing something. Ideally, you would want to see an equal RPM drop for each cylinder to indicate they are performing equally. This can also help give you a picture of other places to look to investigate the loss of engine performance, such as a clogged fuel injector, spark plug, or coil pack(as in your case) etc. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the video, had the same problem with the same coil on my 2003. One word of caution, the guy at AutoZone told me that you should not touch the coil with anything that has oil on it (especially hands) because the oil would make it overheat and explode much like a halogen lamp. I used a pair of nitrile gloves to swap the parts but you can also use latex or vinyl.

The radio code is on the outer left of the glovebox. Sometimes you will have to drop the glovebox down lower than normal but mine is visible from the drivers seat.

That may be so, but often the radio code gets changed (like when the warranty work for the radio face plate is performed) so it's best to make doubly sure you have the code before disconnecting the battery.

If one coil goes bad, that throws all the rest off and thats why it was saying all were misfiring.

I had the same problem on cylinder one and six I change both coils butt on cylinder 6 I put a new spark plug in that quit sending the code so now I have to do in your spark plug in solid or 1 which should take care of the problem
