2003 Volvo V70 Inner CV Joint Pt. 1

This guys a LEGEND for the volvo R community!! Passenger front cv axle for a s60r m66 transmission is impossible to find or a rebuild kit. I needed to buy the cage bc it cracked and haven’t been able to track one down. v70 axle it is !!

I had the pleasure to deal with inner CV joint on car, it was messy to work with and took me 2hours first time to solve it, but when I think now, it was relitevly easy. I took the whole axle with crown and little balls assembled in two palms and slowly, with my friend helping, put everything into the cup.

This video really helped getting my streched cv back together. A bit of a PITA with the boot on and full of grease, but it worked out well when I knew what to do. Thanks!

This helped me, but it helped that I was able to just manipulate the shaft while my wife was fiddling with the balls :-)

thanks you so much! I was struggeling with this for 3 hours! I tired to hammer in the middle part when it became stuck when i putted the shaft in wrong.. Hope i didnt damage it to much. how sensetive is things like this?

Hmm, without seeing the damage, I can't say for sure. If the retention clip can no longer engage, you will see some amount of lateral movement in the joint which could lead to accelerated wear (although I doubt the joint would separate under normal driving, even under complete suspension compression).
