Bought a couple of westward expansion rolls last year, glad I did! Anyone else notice that nickels have been kinda moving up in the limelight within the coin community lately?

Yeah, they are really hoping that they can legally melt them down one day for a profit. I don't see it happening anytime soon, but that is their plan.

Because Russia supplies 70% of the countries nickel and I don't believe we will be getting nickel from them anytime soon!!!!!!

I feel that the Ocean In View nickel was a prototype for the America The Beautiful series reverses. I have read somewhere that the 2005 Obverse was intended to be used in 2004 also, but they were having issues with the dies for the obverse, and they opted to just keep the old obverse design for the Keelboat instead of going to the new obverse then. With 2006 to present, it was pretty much the result of legislators from Virginia who lobbied to not have Monticello off the nickel, but to be restored as long as Jefferson is on the nickel. The obverse design is supposed to represent looking to the future.
