2004 Acura MDX general starter cut off relay location

Starter relay circuit and the area where the starter relay is. Sorry i didn't take the whole fuse box out to show the backside of the fuse box. The diagram shows where the starter cut off relay is when you take off the fuse box. I hope this helps.

solenoid clicks when trying to start.....no crank. Changed the starter....same thing ! Checked the second lead to the starter and no power there ?

In that case, if youre not getting 12 volts to the big wire at the starter then double check the connection for that wire either at the fuse box or at the battery terminal, a possible bad connection is keeping the starter from spinning when the solenoid clicks on.

Could a faulty brake pedal switch or transmission switch cause my MDX not to start? I dont get power at my Signal wire at the starter but i do get power at the signal wire at the ignition.

If the transmission range switch isn't providing ground for the starter relay when its in park or neutral then the starting signal from the ignition switch wont get past the starter relay and to the starter solenoid. I hope that makes sense. The transmission range switch is the one that senses what gear the transmission is in. I hope that . makes sense.

@@liftedmike7415 Yes it makes sense. so ill have to check my Range switch? also my car is stuck in Park i cant get it out of it only when using the manual key hole.

@@streetracingsuriname7980 you can check if there is a good ground from the transmission range switch by connecting a test light to the ground circuit. Make sure its in park then connect test light alligator clip to battery positive and then probe the test light at the black/white wire at the ignition switch, if test light lights up then there is a good ground and the starter signal isn't getting past the ignition switch or the starter cut relay. For the other problem it could be that your brake pedal isn't sending the signal to your computer for it to unlock the shift lever when you step on the brake pedal.

Sorry i don't know where that relay is. From the start of the video is shows like it might have 2 pgm-fi relays.

@@gyancy1 sounds like the starter is bad. In a worst case scenario it could be that the flywheel teeth have broken off and would be why the starter is just spinning. Its rare if that happens but i have seen it happen. If all connections look good and tight then i would say its the starter. Have someone help you and try tapping the Round starter body with a pipe or hammer while the other person is trying to start it. Just be careful not to tap near the positive wire that connects to the starter. If it starts to turn the flywheel once you start tapping it then for sure it's the starter.

Thank you. Its been a while since i worked on that vehicle but i believe the you have to take the much panel off and then disconnect all the electrical connectors that are located to the right of the fuses on the fuse box. Then loosen the nut to the left of the fuses and i believe the fuse box would then slide out. Hopefully that helps
