traced wire down to fused link it look ok but another group of wire in same location wraped inchrom color tape it was powder inagainst a bare alumium wire look like it had been wet not broken ???? any ideas

I have the same issue it is a chrome like tape wrapped around 3 or so wires and it is very oxidized. Still to this day can't find a wire diagram for it. And as far as the link mine looked good from the outside but fell apart when I cut into it.

So when you cut out fusible link , afterwards u ran wire straight together?

yes i did. should probably be replaced with another one but i just cut out the bad and replaced with a short section of wire. no issues still 4 years later

Were do you get another fuse link or did you just wire them all together?

I didnt replace it with a new fusible link I just soldered the wires together. But it is probably safer for the wiring to install some type of fuse to replace it.

I replaced the damaged section of fuseable link and any corroded wire with a electronical butt connector. You may need to use a small section of wire as well.

my truck does this AND I LOVE IT. Why would you want your door to beep? Why would you want NOT to be able to listen to stereo with door open? To be honest, you listed only tip of the iceberg of things that it does. Climate control goes to default after you turn it off and much more

In case you manually cut on your headlights and open the door it won’t let you know. I’ve killed my battery because of this. I have automatic lights but I manually cut it on for testing something. Went back to the truck and cranked it and drove it and then got out thinking it’d cut off like normally after 15 seconds. Went in the house and it sat a few hours and killed it.

Summit sells some they are called fusible links. I just replaced it with a butt conector because the fuseable links are known to fail.

Thank you I really appreciate it I removed the cover of my rear door floor panel and sure enough is full of water I’m assuming this fuse is bad I been having issues with the truck starting so I’m a start there your video was a great source of information really appreciate you
