I've never seen anyone put so much into a race as Matthew Pincent that day. Super human.

He had a 8.5 litre lung capacity 😄 The average male as about 5.8 litre. Redgrave 6.5litres , Lance Armstrong 7litres.

For me Matthew Pincent is the best rower ever ,with all my respect to sir Steven Redgrave!

Rowing is a sport that you’ve got to leave it all out there on the water

Such a human moment, their breaking technique to look over at Canada in the last strokes.

Interesting that three of them managed to glance across at Canada in last few strokes!!! Rule no one in racing???

Actually...all 4 of them! But I can't be critical - as Mike Tyson once said (about a good referee) "I'm not his peer so I can't judge"

@@robinbarwick8473 I am merely pointing it out for benefit of lesser (and younger) rowing / sculling enthusiasts who might find themselves in a very tight finish at any level. It’s irritating to lose by a foot....60 years ago I suffered it at a less impressive status of rowing 3 times!

So humbled to have rowed with Steve at public school and what’s weird is that I was at prep school with Ed! Strange coincidence!

I am curious, Sir Steven Redgrave and Ed Coode are a few years apart, how did you and Ed overlap in school?

@@paladin5382 I guess he means Steve Williams in the bow seat, rather than Steve Redgrave..?
