I have a 2005 gmc envoy xuv. When I had my mechanic to change my pump I don't think he cleaned it as he mentioned "feeling rust" ontop. No clue how he changed it if he didn't take the tank off. My envoy ran out of gas (no warning) I made sure to fill it back up and since then it shakes violently loss of power and "cylinder 2 misfire" so trying to take the tank down to make sure theres no trash in it and to change the fuel filter.once i have money. Hopeing thatll fix the issue. When I had my Tahoe I changed the pump myself and it was way way easier than this to remove the tank.

Great video. At 11:18 what is that white fitting ontop of gas tank with a hose connected to it? I have isolated my connections to my charcoal canister but still unable to put more than 5 litres of gas into tank. The gas just spills out from filler neck. My gas gauge always shows full even with empty tank. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Omg....i do have the problem when putting gas in where it clicks off. I put the nozzle in and the handle is turned to 3:00 position. But i've also noticed that certain gas stations that had the better detergence it won't happen to

Nice video when I need to drop mine. But due to front strap rusting out. Crazy how much damage salty roads in the winter causes. Mine only has 220k miles and tons more rust.

I gave you a 'like', but I don't 'like' the fact that I have to this (or some other fuel work) to my Envoy XL 5.3. Again. I've got so much time and $$ into this thing, it's more than the thing's worth. It's the LS engine's fault, I can't scrap the vehicle because the damn LS V8 is so good! I've ignored the fact that I've had to slow-pump gas into the tank due to the filler-neck issue, but now have a massive leak on front of tank when pump is primed. Possibly bad fuel lines, and/or that fuel pump issue? Disabled (very difficult to do work myself), but don't have the $1,592,944 to pay a damned mechanic. Already put thousands into new suspension and steering components, 4wd still doesn't work, and still having electrical issues! When do i quit and just plant this V8 into a tiny pickup? I just need transportation, for crying out loud!

Happened on my 05 Yukon. top metal lines all Rusted to hell. Thanks GM. On my Chevy pickups I always chop a hole and on the suburban's it's just right under the back seat I chop a hole. And that goes for 90% of the vehicles out there. Use only OEM or Bosch fuel pumps. I had a part store sell me to wrong fuel pumps in a row. Now do you think I'm going to drop a tank and do that over and over again?

Hey Kev, what lead you to replace the fuel pump? P0300 random misfire under load? Or was it just just a mileage maintenace issue (surprised the stock pump made it that far!), or even total pump failure?

I smelled gas and on initial inspection I found the leaking filler inlet. I figured I should probably replace the pump while i had the tank down and I’m glad I decided to because the top of the pump was rusted and leaking.

Looks fron the style homes you may be in nc. Raleigh area maybe. Anyway i have a envoy to do the fuel pump on. 131000 miles. You are really over 300000 miles? Wow
