2004 Honda Cbr 1000RR no fuel prime

Bike won't start. Went through and jumped all relays. The fuel pump won't prime. Everything checked out ok. Jumped 12+ directly to pump and pump works. Jumped the bank angle sensor (BAS)...works fine.

Just bought an used '05 CBR1000RR. Rode it for a day and ran like a champ. Then a no prime issue. Was about to replace my ECM after checking all the connections, BAS, relays, fuses, etc. Would not send ground to fuel pump relay. Whelp... Found this video and exactly the same area in the harness. I'll cut it open tomorrow to see which wire it is. Thanks for this. 10 years later. Haha

But you get the general idea. The guy who owned the bike was gonna get rid of it. Changed his mind once we fixed it.

Thank you man! I had a connection issue in that yellow box just above where you grabbed the harness. One of the ground cables was a bit loose in the connector and bit burned the yellow case. Pulled out the wrong pin tighten a bit and push back to a free slot. All works like a charm. Thanks for heads up

As I see, this yellow box collecting all the ground wire and according these bikes are 20 years old now, this plastic sh*t and the connections can be loosed nowadays.

Having the same problem on my 04 rr. Bike got impounded then wouldn't turn on when I got it back... Thought it was a bad battery but nope fuel pump still won't prime. Will be applying everything from this vid thanks for posting

I dont have a cbr 1000 i got a 600rr and I stripped the bike to find a tare in the wire about the same area. Good reference video

Hello everyone, I have a 08 gsxr 600, an I'm having a similar problem, my bike just cut off on me an when I had cut it back on the ignition fuse had blown an now I put brand new fuses in them, so now when I turn the ignition switch on the lights cuts on but when I turn the kill switch on I hear nothing an the fuel pump don't prime but with the kill switch on I can press the start up button an the bike sounds like it's trying to start but don't, any help please?

hi, havent found the problem yet, just conifrmed that lifting the loom when the engine was hot, the fuel did prime, for me , the bike works when it is cold, but verry ocasionally it doesnt start, when I ride, and stop somewhere. I have refolded the loom in a different posision. and I am checking if the problem still exsists.

Thanks for this. Having a similar problem on my 954 & tried all the components on the circuit, BAS, ignition diode, etc. Switching the highbeam relay for the fuel cutoff relays got it going, but then it blew out again an hour later. Anybody know where to look in the harness for a short?

What was the problem with your 04' 600rr ? I've been having same issues somedays it fires right up and some it will not prime to save my life I've been all over it's thing and still don't know my problem.......thanks in advance for your time and knowledge on this situation

CBR600F4i 2001 mine wouldn`t prime either and the high beam light would come on, I found that a loose green wire in the front wiring harness connector block for the headlights etc was the reason why.

When you finally get through the strongest electrical tape known to man. You will be speechless as to what you find. It is a green wire with blue electrical tape. At least it was on my bike.

i think i have the same problem went out today and i took off from a stoplight and died out i have an 03 600rr will the harness be the same do u know i did test the full pump directly to 12 volts it does work.

Hi. I have a 2001 Honda cbr F4i with the same problem. The fuel pump will not prime and neither does the headlights or turn signals work. When I turn my bike on, the cluster shows my high beam lights on even though it's off. I can't seem to figure it out, so can you please help if possible. Thank you
