Hey man, many many thanks for this video! I replace the fuel pump in my moms 2013 Kia Rio in under an hour. A few things were different because of model year, but basically the same. Your video was very informative thanks again!!

I have a 2013 Rio as well and I can't get it to start. It just cranks but doesn't start. We're you having the same problem?

@@alekgutierrez7976 no, ours would run for about 5min and shut off! We listened for the pump to make any noise and it never did. So I figured it was soaking up fuel in the sock when the high pressure pump (located on the engine) ran the filter dry it would shut off. After checking relays and fuses I changed the pump out( in tank pump). Check your fuses, relays, and see if it’s putting a code out first. Turn the key on without cranking and listen to hear the intank pump making noise, if it is it might be the high pressure pump up front, or a spark issue! Good luck my friend!

The plug-in attachment that was attached to the top of the fuel pump with wires running from it, how did you remove it when you pulled out the fuel pump without damaging the attachment? Did you just yank it off? It was still attached at the end of part one, but in part two is was already removed, so you somehow removed it between videos. If you remember, that would be wonderful. Thanks for making these!

Thanks for vid mine has been sitting for ages starts the dies and does same thing should I replace pump and filter caus it keeps dying or do u think it could be something else like evaporated purge valve

Always start with the 3 things you need to run. spark, fuel, and oxygen. If you have all 3 and it's still dying then that's when you start checking other stuff. Basic mechanics

Fyi for those with a 03 spectra.....you can get to the fuel pump this way. Remove the back seat cushion by pulling up from the crack of the seat where it meets the seat back.

What is the wire that's left? I noticed the rubber gasket and the metal ring were still hanging there and then like magic you removed them. You kinda skipped that part

You didn't change the fuel filter you just swapped the fuel pump motor bracket, the fuel filter is the mesh sock looking item attached to the bottom of the fuel pump. Also you didn't show how to remove the black connector bracket on top of the fuel pump plate. It slides off toward the outer ring and requires a lot of wiggle and pressure to get it to unsnap.

In this video I did NOT see the filter get put in the frame anywhere nor did you go through the process of installing it to the underside of the car you only did the fuel pump replacement which tbh you went way out of your way when it comes fully together as a new part without any taking things apart for $90 from rock auto. Only reason I am putting this up here is I am looking for the fuel FILTER not pump
