2004 Lexus LX-470 - Repair Mark Levinson Speakers

Another new one for the channel. Enjoy!
I recently refoamed the speakers in my 2004 Lexus LX470.
The little project turned out great and the speakers sound great.
Foam and glue was purchased from Simply Speakers for about $75.
Disassembly Instructions were purchased from Crutchfield.com for $9.95.

Why wouldn't you just unplug and remove the whole speaker assembly? Is it more than just the yellow plug and the 3 bolts? Thanks for post the video!

I didn't know at the time. It was the only speaker like that and I had seen a post somewhere talking about cutting wires and soldering and I didn't want to do that. I know better now.

What did the broken speaker sound like? Mine buzzes loudly on sound with more bass. Happens periodically.

Correct. Mushy, buzzy, etc. Couldn't handle the sound because speaker foam was broken. The little cone was trying bit the foam was broken so the cone made weird noises.
