2004 Lincoln Navigator Air Suspension Failure (Part 1) " Replacing The Compressor"

On the way back from town, we hear the air pump get louder then just stop. A few moments later we get the warning on the dash "Check Air Suspension". After getting home, we only have one DTC "Rear Pneumatic Failure". We can remotely trigger the solenoids, but the pump doesn't come on. We remove the air pump and find the connecting rod seperated from the motor shaft. So we replace the compressor and find out what is else is wrong.

After 19 years (only 99k miles), the compressor on my 2004 is starting to get loud. Am changing it tomorrow and then a Tampa to Dallas and back to Tampa trip. Will probably do the caps before our cold Florida winter sets in later this year!

I notice on my 2004 the front bags tend to slowly leak down once the temperature gets below 40°. At 35° its still drivable, but the compressor comes on more often to keep it at ride height. At 30° the fronts leak faster than the compressor can air it up.

I have a 2005 i'm having the same issue, my compressor comes on and it's a bit louder than I think it should be not any clanking or clacking just a loud purring/humming sound I noticed once it's cold out the ride will be bouncy then the chime and warning does what yours is doing i'll pull over and keep the truck running and turn the suspension off then back on and ride off and it stop bouncing and behave normally I don't like doing this because there has to be a reason why it's doing this. any suggestions?
