In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2004 Mercedes Benz S430. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

I have a 2006 S430 Pewter Metallic and while it says it only has 275 horsepower i assure you it doesnt feel like it..it keeps up with my charger RT. Ive also never had any problems with mines and i have 54k on it now. Its a very beautiful car however my one complaint is the cup holders in the front and some of the build quality like the plastic on the seat bottoms and the steering wheel buttons. plain out HARD. but even then when you sit in it it feels more solid than even new fully loaded cars. i plan on purchasing a s550 in the next 2 years. im thinking about a 2013 or 2012 the w222 doesn't look as good as the w221 or even the w220s

Ok. So you're saddled with that nerdy Toyota image. The Highlander is much more versatile and has more ground clearance than the S Class 4matic as well as it should be very reliable and give you many trouble free miles! If you don't plan on racking up the miles,then it's resale value should be great if you want to get rid of it. It's basically up to you if you want to look uppity or intelligent.

@TheSodality Yeah these W220s aren't the greatest in terms of dependability although if this particular one was maintained well it should be alright, no way it could reach this mileage without good maintainence and repair. I'm sure most of the common problems that these cars have would have been fixed by now. I would take a Lexus LS though, I'd sleep better at night knowing I have a lesser chance of breaking down.

I would recommend (at a $30,000 or less price range), a 06' CLK500, 04' ML500, 04' M3 Coupe, 06' 525i, 04' Jaguar S-Type 4.6, or a W211 E-Class. Very good experiences from what I've heard.

The W220 S Class can be a great car for the money but do your homework. Many owners neglected to have the Nav system upgraded to a digital system which means the Nav system won't work nor will the TeleAid/ SOS system. Also, plugged water drain tubes can cause the interior to flood behind the dash and under front and rear floorboards, check for water under the carpet. Make sure the car sits level and check the AirMatic suspension manual height adjuster, not all air leaks trigger an error code.

The base price is the cheapest, but you can spec a S320CDI (although it's S350CDI in current range) to have nearly all of the toys the others in the range have. In England it's not very common to see petrol powered S-Classes - even the very rich buy the diesel one.

Alexander Vakulenko this car isn't from 2004 or well it is but it was designed in 1998 and produced all the way to 2005.
@Carmaker1
@Carmaker1 8 жыл бұрын
+philip s (Dishano) No it most certainly was NOT "designed" in 1998. Automotive design is not done in a vacuum. This generation of S-Class (W220) was designed from 1992 to 1995 (approved), barely coming out in late 1998. Being "designed" and production run are not the same thing. Design is not a last minute step, especially not at Daimler AG where it takes them many years to develop every single generation of S-Class. The next generation S-Class began development in late 2014 and is planned for 2020. The facelift is already designed for 2017.
@philipadastra

@Carmaker1
@Carmaker1 8 жыл бұрын
philip s That is my profession/field (automotive engineering and industrial design), which is why I cared to correct you, as to not confuse and mislead Alexander. I did agree with you, as his BMW 5-Series is a generation newer, so his comparison didn't make sense. The BMW E60 was designed in 1998-2000, while this S-Class was mostly designed in 1992-1995 and partly in 1999-2000 for late 2002-05 facelift versions. It is irking how much of the public thinks we are allowed to do things so last minute, when we have ridiculous long deadlines and are planning for the 2020's already. It is why someone would use "designed" to incorrectly refer to a model run instead of actual development.

We says that this car is: Luxurious, reliable (idk, some people while most people say that this car's reliability is OK), and defenitely worth it and certainly became a bargain for cheap used luxury car. Hardip Singh Only small things may go wrong?? Uhh get those air suspension struts + compressor replaced at the dealership (they are guaranteed to leak), you're looking at up to $10k bill! And how about those suspension bushings? They're small, but they add up, and so will labor cost - especially at the dealership! Yes, the engine and transmission are bulletproof, but they have their problems too. If rear main seal is leaking oil (not uncommon), you have to drop the transmission i.e. $$$ in labor. So, not as good, maintenance-wise, as a Lexus, but not nearly the nightmare that Audi's A8 and BMW's 7 series are.

You can get an S430 with pretty much every option the S500 had, except the larger engine of course. The S500 came standard with a few more features, but they were available on the S430 and an extra cost option. I agree though, I'd take the 500 over the 430 just because of the engine size.
