Interesting fact: This was the first time the Truck race at Daytona (which I refer to as the Daytona 250) was run at night, which we still do every February. The first three Daytona 250's were run on Friday afternoon. Mike Wallace (inaugural in 2000), Joe Ruttman (2001), Robert Pressley (2002), and Rick Crawford in a 3-wide photo finish (2003).

What a great crowd NASCAR was so healthy in O4

Toyota came into the truck series.Other teams were building new trucks to keep up with them and there new equipment. This left a lot of equipment out there that was competitive and small teams had a great chance to buy it and go racing at the world center of speed. This is what's missing in today's NASCAR. no chances for small local track guys to go big league racing. My Dad was a framing Contractor out of Louisville KY and was able to fund a competitive truck that finished #15th in this race. And great job Wayne Edwards who drove a smart race and never really raced the truck all night he simply let them come back to him
