Damn!!! I love these tour de France Re-cap videos! Taking basically about 90-100 hours of video, and squashing it into 3-4 hours is great. Gotta love Phill and Paul!!! Rip Paul!! He will be missed!!

Every year that we have Phil Liggett commentating the tour is a real treat. I think it was 2016 when we lost Paul Sherwin and that was a big loss. They were to the tour de France as John Madden and Pat summeral was to the NFL Bob has stepped up and filled Paul's position perfectly. I think as long as Phil has his mind and can walk and talk, he'll be commentating the tdf.

This was the first Tour that I remember keeping track of. A year or two later I read Lance's book. People will love him or hate him. I believe in forgiveness. It doesn't mean you forget and it doesn't mean there are no consequences for the wrong you have done. He will deal with the consequences for the rest of his life. It's good to confess so you can start to heal the hurt.

To all the Haters of LA.....note. He trained the hardest of them all. And Dr. Ferrari fine-tuned him. So, in a Tour chock and block with Juicers, Team Drug-Doctors and Billionaire owners. Lance deserved his 7 Wins. He just made too many enemies. All these top guys have HUGE egos'......and they just couldn't stand the American. 7 in a Row. Lance made BILLIONS for the product placements in Cycling. === Anyway, he is $50 000 000 large as at, in 2024. Lance won at Life. Who cares what forgettable, naive Nobodies have to say about it. Haters will Hate. It's what these No-talent Losers do. Pro Sports is Psychopathic.....we all know that.

Part of me misses when riders were allowed to discard their helmets on a summit finish. I understand it's important to set an example, and they do ride pretty fast still uphill, but it had a cool factor for sure. it's pretty insane though that they used to ride descents without a helmet prior to the 2003 rule change.

Armstrong was juiced , but so were the other 180+ users of the Tour de France...in fact every rider has been juiced in the tdf since 1990 His real crime is he was an asshole, but I don’t think that was against the rules. Disqualifying him and Floyd but not DQing every winner since 1990 is hypocracy
@bluewaveshows4u

Manuel Flores People can say what they want, and yes, he was an a-hole at times, but I’ve seen several videos of Armstrong in training-NOBODY trained with his intensity and alone where he was climbing mountains in the most brutal conditions of snow & heavy rain! Its been said about Lance that in order for him to be the champion for those several years, he had to have a higher standard than all of his challengers by training in the most difficult terrain, under the most difficult weather, and with the highest work ethic. He even stated in his book that he had to go train where no one else was willing to go in order to win. That’s what it took. He sure as hell delivered! Even all of the top Tour de France riders (who also admitted to doping) admit that Armstrong was the real winner of those 7 tours. The fact that no one else was awarded victories in those seven years speaks to the fact that it was a level playing field-even though they were doping.

3:51:35 I love the coverage from Phil Liggett and Co but here is one of many examples where their reporting covered up the truth for Armstrong. This court case was all about Michel Ferrari - Armstrong’s real trainer - and allegations that he doped his clients. Simeoni had testified against Ferrari saying he had helped him to dope. Armstrong purposely attacked Simeoni for no reason to do with racing. With hindsight this told us what was really going on. But the commentary is misleading and takes the argument away from the real issue- PEDs

I agree with Jens. The tour should stop showing favorites and get rid of the time trial protections and silly jerseys like green and polka dot. You either win the tour or you lose. No more "I lost but only because they are unfair to big guys" or "I came in 80th and won". Green, polka dot, white, low-budget team, etc means you lost. Simple
