If your passenger side carpet is soaked this video might help you. Would have saved me a lot of work if I had this info before I took my whole dash apart.

Brilliant! FYI, there is also a Chrysler part for this, which I discovered after watching your video: Part #56000724-AB Evaporator Drain Tube - It's a fancy tube (with a 90 degree bend!), but yours gets the job done... I never would have figured this out if not for watching this. Thank you!

Tape a tube to the drain and tape that tube to a shop vac. I just did this and it sucked out some black stuff and a lot of water. My car already had a hose at the end but the hose is very helpfully to let the water drip away from places that it might be able to drip back in.

Yours is EASY.... as you are 'missing' 2 cylinders! Lol.... The 4.7 V8 just conggests the whole engine bay and I will (try to) access mine from below!

Thank you so much & thank all who had helped like you others to know how to fix that problem... In fact I found your video more reasonable because I'm having the exact same problem, I see water draining out under the car but there is water in passenger floor side thus the only explanation is that water is coerced backward while running... By the way there is other simple solution for all cars just close all air AC doors on the dash board & turn the ventilation at its high speed so the air finds the exit doors closed on the dash board & be forced to blow out from the draining exit (make sure the blowing air is adjusted to the front closed doors not to windshield or to the feets...) this way had worked for me & I keep doing it from time to time to keep that drain way open...¤▪☆○•°~`♡😙😉

What is the diameter of the tubing you used? Thanks in advance!

Quite helpful video! Helped me keep my Jeep from becoming a swimming pool 😂 I like the screen you used to replace the stereo! Where did you get it?

a.co/d/7YTSlun Amazon.com of course, doesn't everything come from there? 🤣When I was looking up this order I noticed several others too that may be cheaper. This one requires taking your existing vent louvers and attaching them to the new faceplate.

Just an additional comment: purchase 5/8" ID vinyl thicker walled tubing, ($2.49) and install the full foot length. Easier to install with the extra length, since there is no room to work within a 4.7L engine space.

Thanks for the video. I think I might have the same issue. How did you remove the carpet? Is it an easy job? No need to remove center console, just the seat? Thanks

My wj 4.7 gurgles left side behind dash! If I put air con on is seems to stop gurgling! My aircon comes on automatically even thou I don't have that option! Could a blocked drain hole cause gurglin?

Did you use a hose clamp for the tube? How did you secure the tube? thank you!

So I looked up the official Mopar drain tube and every where I look including Chrysler's site, they all say it only works on 99-2001. Will it work on our 2004?
@paulmorris86733 жыл бұрын
I honestly don't know the diameter of the official part or the tube that comes through the firewall but if you measure them that should tell you if it will work.

I think it will work on all WJ 1999-2004

Paul or anyone, how would you preform this fix on a 2002 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7L? I can't find the drain hose like the 4.0L Thanks!
@paulmorris86734 ай бұрын
I'm sure the drain pipe would be in the same place on that model but the 4.0 being an inline six is narrow in comparison to a 4.7L V8 so it would probably be a lot harder to locate the drain pipe on the firewall. The pipe only sticks through the firewall about an inch. It is on the passenger side about six inches up from the bottom of the firewall and you can probably see it better from the underside. I'm sorry I don't have one with a 4.7 to make a video to help you find it.

Had the ame on my ZJ.... thought the muppets at Chrysler had learned to design this. They improved 'a little' as on the ZJ the drain is INSIDE the frame! So you need to cut a window.... and cut on a structural member.

Chrysler part Part #56000724-AB Evaporator Drain Tube I did not measure exactly what size the tube was, I just used one that was in my garage.
