Anyone doing this should know that you can pull the wiper arms, bezel and a few 10mm bolts later the entire wiper assembly is out. Area is very open and accessible. Had to go after a rattling heat shield on the header pipes yesterday.

Looking at the ABS pump you have to remove the brake lines and brake line bracket from the left side and on the right side you have to remove the auxiliary heater core pump which is bolted to the large bracket on the right side of the ABS pump

Mine's been making that noise, as well as a wood pecker/knock sound for a while. Got these codes yesterday (128,000 miles). I flashed the codes and plan on driving it until I get the problem consistently. Thanks for the video! I'll follow it when I have to do it

@@Luis-lj9cp It's the ABS actuator that's bad and needs to be replaced. As of writing that comment, a couple months later, my brakes went completely out and it would have cost me $3k to fix it so ended up selling my '04 and buying a '10

FYI Although some on KZbin want to be "different" the background "music" is too much.....Did I miss or not view or see the following... the physical removal/replacement of said ABS module... Brake fluid removed/replaced with bleed out ....However nailed the Inverter removal/replacement....FYI also I am of the thinking that said ABS module "noise" "chatter" "chirping" may be the coming and /or partial failure of 12 volt DC motor (silver cover) bearing/ carbon brush contain within ABS pump actuator module

Thank you for your video. My car has the same fault as yours. I refer to your video and bought a refurbished abs pump. But after I replaced it, when I did not perform bleeding, the fault codes C1256, C1253, And after opening the main driver's door, there was a continuous sound of high-pitched warning, which was very ear-piercing. This noise does not disappear. Does this mean that my newly bought abs pump is damaged, or is it because I did not perform bleeding? Now I may wait for the bleeding to see the effect, but I see that most people do not have any warning including my c1256 c1253 without bleeding, so I have little hope. I am hesitating whether I need to purchase an abs pump replacement again, which makes me at a loss. Thank you for your help

@@gushilin if everything is plugged in and those codes won’t clear with a scan tool it’s possible that the new/rebuilt unit u got is faulty. It should be under warranty tho and they will ship you another

Cool Video. Question: The clicking sound in back of the inverter area and the same sound at 1:11 in the video is that the sound of the pump going on and off? Did that sound continue the same way after you put in the rebuilt ABS Actuator? Is that a normal sound or does that mean it's going bad? Worked on a 2008 and it gave c1256 and c1252 which I cannot find any info on. Anyone know what the c1252 along with c1256 would mean? Scanner says fix is to replace the ABS pump so not sure if it's nothing additional other than ABS pump

After bleeding brakes. If your battery was disconnected thru the whole process, once you bleed the brakes and connect the battery you should be good to go.

Giovanny I used a vacuum bleed from harbor freight that connects to an air compressor, it worked great, start from the far right rear wheel and then left rear then right front and then left front, with a scan tool it’s a faster process, but if you don’t have a scan tool to bleed brakes you may have to repeat the process a few times after a drive.

I poured the coolant in and bleed the Brakes, starting with right rear, left rear, right front and left front. After that I did the bleed again with a scan tool. I don’t think the scan tool made a difference, but I cleared codes and it was good to go

Did the actuator make that noise constantly before or at the same time the lights came on? Will the breaks work if the actuator fails? Mine is making that noise every 10 seconds or so, I suspect a leak and the pump constantly starting in order to build back the pressure, but I don't have any lights on the dash yet. Thanks!

Yea that’s how it started, it would make the noise more often than normal and then the lights would come on once in a while. After that the lights would stay on full time. Brakes still worked tho.

Can you scan the car for codes? That’s the best way to start is scan it and google the codes. Could be an easy fix

@@L8R-HP it is P1391, what is crazy is I brought a new actuator pump the one you replaced and it still had the brake light and abs with the (!) on and my mechanic followed everything he was suppose to do and it still didn’t solve it? what can you think is the problem?

Yes, depending on where the failure is, it's usually the accumulator but when the ABS light is on, it usually means your ABS is OFF, which makes breaking in the rain or otherwise suddenly butt-puckering.

It would have been nice if you mention the smaller connectors on the back of the inverter, the two bolts on the backside of the inverter, the huge cast iron weight on the bottom of the abs bracket. Other than That, it’s a good video.

Did you notice the dog tag necklace thing dangling around the inverter.. def mad me nervous seeing that.... and yeah thos gloves would of provided no protection if the hybrid cables were live

@@josegarcia-c9e9d that’s why you disable the hybrid battery and the secondary battery before doing this. Rubber gloves did help. Any electrician would know that. Unless of course i started licking the battery terminals and hooking them up to my nipples 😂. Maybe next time… ✌️

Good Morning. Has your 09 pruis starting singing my pruis am talking about that FUCKING beeping when put the car in used it does every 15 seconds are 15 minutes like you driving big truck 🚚 & also it feel like the pruis does not have power or does not have breaks. For me to get STOP pruis I have slam on the break and you hear the back wheel squealing. After that I got power breaks again. You can't go fast if so put your head between your legs KISS your good bye 👋. Oh did you have to bleed all 4-wheels get the air out your break lines.
