Thanks for the video, just finished my job. Your video was awesome, but it was tougher for a person that doesn't do this often than the video might imply.....A couple of points for someone getting ready to start this.... getting the 12v "cigarette adapter" out of the center console was one of the toughest jobs (ugh)....make sure to leave yourself enough slack up front when running your harness to the trunk.... when using the Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Module there is a chance that the wiring is reversed to what the video and Axxess says on their website (mine worked fine after reversing them)..... the plastic brackets with the 95-8215S dash kit didn't line up perfectly on my 2007 Avalon Touring, had to break off the little plastic alignment pins that should locate the brackets on the side of the radio and wing it to get the unit aligned properly in the dash.... if you're using a backup camera and this Pioneer unit, be sure the plug the yellow camera "video output" into the brown BC input....to keep from scratching the vinyl areas around the dash while working on the install use some blue painter's tape to protect it and take it off right before final installation. Took me about 8 hours total and about a half pint of blood from skinned knuckles, but it looks nice now! Good luck.

To add to it, I figured one thing out Instead of the whole old radio Try to take off the top cd drive part and front and just use the bottom portion where cables plug in This simplifies the unit and you will be able to fit it behind your new radio along with that long cable 😃 I installed mine like this and the climate screen works perfect and no need to run cable to trunk and install old radio there. Thank you for such a great How-to video. You definitely answered a lot of the questions I had. I have a 2006 Avalon Limited with JBL Synthesis and factory navigation. You may not be able to answer my question as the vehicle you worked on didn't have those options. From what I understand, I won't need to relocate the factory head unit to the trunk, and I should use the PAC RP4.2-TT11 instead of the Access AWSC-1. If that's correct, do you know how the factory multifunction display will be affected? I don't plan to use factory navigation or the factory radio info setting once I switch to an Android Auto compatible head unit, but I would still like the HVAC, vehicle maintenance, and distance to empty/fuel consumption displays to work. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Cheers

Provo Beast Audio Installation I have a 2005 Toyota Avalon with the JBL system. I was thinking about changing to aftermarket radio and was wondering if you can do a short video on how to wire to the pac 4.2-ty11. Thanks again
@ProvoBeastAudio6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately this wasn't a personal vehicle but essentially you wire it color for color to your new radio. You can either soldier and use heat shrink, or use butt connectors.

So if I'm installing ASWC-1 with pioneer double din my steering wheel control should work?
@jamaalyarde4 жыл бұрын
The microbypass that you use for this install on the Pioneer could the same one be used for the Sony XAVAX1000 6.2 also ?
@ProvoBeastAudio4 жыл бұрын
Sonys usually can just be grounded, no bypass needed. Pioneer's require a double or triple pulse negative to work which is why these bypasses are nice.

I have a 2008 limited with factory JBL. I ordered the Metra relocation harness, as well as the pac rp4.2 ty-11. Is there anything else I need to order to retain the factory amp, information screen, and steering wheel controls?
@ProvoBeastAudio4 жыл бұрын
pac rp4.2 ty-11 should do all that for you actually. It's pricey, but it's worth it.

At 6:00 we learn that "...this display still relies on this [the old] radio." BUT What if I care nothing about preserving the function of the display? Disadvantages?
@ProvoBeastAudio6 жыл бұрын
Disadvantages is you will not preserve the temperature indicators on the screen. You can get around this by purchasing the Idatalink maestro and purchasing a radio to display those temperature settings. It will cost a bit more in parts though.

Great video, thanks... just finished the install on my 2007 Avalon limited with the JBL Amp.. the correct Metra relocation cable has the connector and wiring pre-installed in the relocation harness... All I had to do was plug in the ASWC-1 module, and I now have full steering wheel controls!!! Hope this helps someone.....

I have a 2007 Avalon Limited with nav and subwoofer. It has an additional 6+6 pin harness that plugs into the back of the factory headunit. I removed the factory 6+6 pin harness in order to plug in an eBay bluetooth adapter to the back of the headunit. With the bluetooth adapter installed, I press the "Disc" button, the display reads "Aux" and the bluetooth audio is routed to the door speakers, but audio is no longer being routed to the factory sub. The sub is still powered. If the bluetooth is connected and the music is paused and I turn the volume way up, a faint hum in the subwoofer gets louder, but otherwise no actual audio signal is being routed to the sub when music is playing. Same with FM or any other input, no audio is being routed to the sub under any circumstance with the factory 6+6 harness disconnected. I bought a 6+6 pin Y-adapter cable, so that I could simultaneously plug the factory 6+6 harness and the 6+6 bluetooth adapter into the back of the headunit via the Y cable... this made no difference. It still works as if I only have the bluetooth adapter plugged in. The only way to restore audio to the subwoofer is to remove the bluetooth adapter and plug the 6+6 factory harness directly back into the headunit. Then the sub works again, and obviously bluetooth is gone. Is there a way to have my bluetooth/aux input and factory subwoofer work at the same time?

You have to get a module .you have a premium sound system which includes 10 speakers total . Your aux may only rate 4 outlets hence 4 speakers.

So I have a dilemma. I have a 2008 Toyota Avalon xls with God and jbl.. I want to keep my GPS screen and for the jbl system to work. So if I get the factory relocation kit will this work properly? So if I have a JBL sound system, would I need a wiring harness to retain the center console display ? And not have to relocate my radio?
@briancai15063 жыл бұрын
You need the the pac rp4.2 ty11. It will retain the center console display and also retain the steering wheel controls. You need to one or two connectors (if I remember correctly) of the pac to the Avalon's harness. You don't need relocate the factory radio thanks to the pac.

You got it. We linked everything in the description for ya.

If you simply install the relocation cable, and skip the steering wheel control harness do the HVAC controls on the dashboard still work?

Yes, I can confirm HVAC display still works correctly if you omit the steering wheel adapter.

I've been meaning to do this for a while (2 years actually) but always get discouraged when I found that I will loose the HVAC and blue screen. This helps a lot however, I have the JBL speakers on mine but no navigation... Guess I'll need another harness. I am getting an Android head unit. Will this harness also allow me to retain the inbuilt mic? will all speakers be powered? I have so many questions
@ProvoBeastAudio6 жыл бұрын
If you have the factory JBL sound system, you will need to use the PAC RP4.2-TY11 Wiring Interface. This will retain the JBL amp and keep your HVAC controls as well. The factory mic may not be salvageable, so you will want to run your own.
@wole046 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the answer! Does the AC steering wheel controls still work or the new HU takes over these buttons as well?
@ProvoBeastAudio6 жыл бұрын
Yep! It should, in theory, retain all those factory controls, but it's best to verify with Pac.
@wole046 жыл бұрын
So... Another question :D I've been looking at this required pac unit and it's over a hundred bucks and is a device... Not just a cable. So will I still need to relocate the stock radio? Or I can just install this harness /device and my blue screen works! Thanks again
@ProvoBeastAudio6 жыл бұрын
Yep, its a entire smart module harness adapter because it's essentially retaining the factory JBL amplifier but at the same time, running the blue screen above. So it does eliminate the need to relocate the factory radio to the trunk.
@Napak15 жыл бұрын
Do the steering wheel temp controls work afterwards? Also, do I need to do anything different since I have a limited model with a factory amp?
@ProvoBeastAudio5 жыл бұрын
Yes, all worked post installation as normal. If you have the factory JBL system, part requires will change. Check the description of the video for that list.
