Good video I used it to fix my 2007 Acura TL mirrors. You just need a little better camera lighting and focus, hard to follow sometimes.

Glad it was helpful! Yeah I agree about the camera. I got a cheapo camera off Amazon to try out and it’s fine for further out but close-ins are very fuzzy. My iPhone camera is better for close up videos! 😭🙄

My mirrors were also clicking and strangely, buzzing. So I did the repair and found hornets inside. The hornets didn't like the silicon spray, but the actuator did.

Good video, and I was replacing my mirror because mine had deteriorated worse than yours. I was able to find a used one that was as good as new. However, I noticed the center ball type piece with a torx head screw in the middle. I removed it and found the lubriplate was dry. I wiped it off and replaced the lubriplate, and smeared it around with my finger, both on the inside to the center ball and on the back side, which can be seen by removing the three torx mounting screws . It works like new. I have a video if you tell me where to send it.

That's a good repair/fix! Thanks for sharing that insight. You should start a KZbin channel on your fixes too! 👍

I'll give this a try then report back. I may need to replace the actuator on the driver's side because it moves on it's own. Thx

Hope you get it fixed up!

Helpful. Thanks. Today I discovered my daughter's newly purchased used car's passenger side mirror housing was cracked from an impact and it doesn't work completely. The electronics work, glass intact, goes side to side and up but won't go down, it makes the click noise like it's at the end of range even when it's fully up. So I have to manually push it down and then adjust from bottom upwards. It is very floppy and lose. I'm wondering if it's floppy and needing to be snapped in more, or is it perhaps the actuator down stem, or whatever you call them, have the threads stripped? Any thoughts?

Hi @jenniferferrusi6814 I would probably remove the mirror and actuator and inspect both to find out what’s loose and then likely go to a junkyard to get some replacement parts for cheap! Best of luck and hope you have no troubles fixing your daughter’s newly-purchased used car!

Can you repair the heated mirrors or do you have to replace them? 05 TL
@lmsdiy Жыл бұрын
Replace. They pop off and there's a connector to disconnect.

I have my passenger mirror set to move every time i put it in reverse so it helps me park but im trying to figure out if there’s a way to make it memorize the reverse positioning or if it always just mimics the position it’s set when you have it in drive/park, hopefully im being understandable
@lmsdiy2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I totally get what you are saying. It only seems to know to go downwards a set amount based on where it is in the normal position. And then return it back the same amount after taking it out of reverse. I don't think it's anymore intelligent than that
@jerryman2870 Жыл бұрын
I think you can program the this through the memory, like setting the seat position etc., but it only will remember where the mirror is set. The mirror tilts a set amount from there.

I removed mine, got the same mirror from a junk yard , the serial numbers Matches so i knew i had the right size but when I tried putting it on , it didn’t want to go on because of some plastic screws that had to go in, but the original mirror didn’t have any screws to hold it in place? Am I putting it on wrong
@lmsdiy2 жыл бұрын
The only screws I can think of should be the ones in the video. Maybe something came out with the mirror from the junkyard that wasn't supposed to/didn't need to. Do you need these screws? Can you remove the screws and get it to fit in?
@bryanbompton63562 жыл бұрын
@@lmsdiy yes i took out the screws and it finally fits , im thinking that the little plastic cover that goes in back of the mirror got pulled with the mirror at the junk yard, but my question now is the mirror doesn’t move side to side, do i have to put in a certain position when i put the mirror on?
@bryanbompton63562 жыл бұрын
I think it’s called the actuator
@lmsdiy2 жыл бұрын
@@bryanbompton6356 if (the actuator) it not centered, it will go in some directions and then you will hear the clicking when it tries to go further than it can. You can push the corners or edges of the mirror to get it in a more centred position and then adjust with the power control as needed. If it doesn't move whatsoever, like no movement at all, it's possibly seized up. Maybe the one from the junkyard is in worse shape than your original?
@bryanbompton63562 жыл бұрын
@@lmsdiy does the acturator cause it to move , i can hear it moving the “motor “, but it doesn’t move the mirror at all and the mirror is in perfect condition the only reason I switched it out is because my old one was rusty from the heated mirrors turning it a bit Rusty, i hasd a bit trouble taking off the original mirror thinking i broke the motor but i still hear it rotating , if you can possibly help in any way i described it I appreciate it so much
