@moccina8 жыл бұрын
Lol right! I'm shopping for one of these and I come across many with 200k. I usually skip past them. I think if it's a 1 owner, and all maintenance was done, all should be ok. If you can find the sweet spot where everything that's gonna break has already been repaired, sometimes it's better than buying a car with 99k miles. The only downside is re-sale value. It's hard enough to sell a 200k car, I would think it almost impossible to sell a 300k car lol.
@vi_EviL_iv8 жыл бұрын
moccina imo neh, no sale. ill find a Japanese engine and buy it for $1,200 at around 60,000 miles give or take a few hundred miles (due to their smog laws they replace engines at that point) and call it a day. i have 07 tsx at 79,976 miles, im the original owner, car cost $14,000 now used but the engine goes for $1,200 and tranny same price, same deal as engine from Japan to replace, food for thought.
@moccina8 жыл бұрын
Arioch That's not a bad plan if you live in a fair weather climate. Where I live the frame, undercarriage & body will deteriorate before the drivetrain will, due to road salt in winter. It sucks. Even with yearly undercoating, it's almost impossible to keep a car on the road for more than 15 years.

Gravitas 37 Where they’re assembled makes no difference. The issues most cars have today are design problems and have nothing to do with assembly. I'll never forget the very first brand new car I ever bought for myself which was a 2004 Acura TSX with navigation. I was, at the time, actually really excited to find a lightly used E46, but after test driving a few (and after looking at overall prices at the time) my buddy suggested I look at something new like the then-new TSX from Acura. So I went down to the dealer to test drive one and man, I fell instantly in love with the car. Then when I realized that a fully loaded, brand new TSX was right there in price with 1-3 year old 328i's with over 30k miles I was completely sold. I remember the gorgeous gauge cluster, sound system, nav unit, and silky smooth 2.4 liter really standing out and I also really loved the styling (inside and out) of that original TSX. I bought a silver one off the lot that very day and it ended up being a wonderful decision. The E46 still remains one of my favorite designs in automotive history, but the bad reliability, poor value, and frankly antiquated interior features (like the horrid E46-era navigation system) all reassured me that I made the right decision in going with a brand new Honda instead, for essentially the same kind of money. I still miss that car to this day, and I've had everything from G37S's to GS350 F-Sports to my current Genesis 3.8 since then! Truly a classic Acura, along with the also new-at-the-time 2004 TL! Looking at that beginning close up of the instrument cluster in this video really takes me back!

I just traded in my 1G (2005) with 175k for a 2013 SE. I feel that I took good care of the vehicle, but it required quite a bit of maintenance towards the end of it's tenure with me. I had ball joints and wheel bearings fail, flex pipe broken, O2 sensors fail. For some reason, soon after I bought it until I traded it, I couldn't ever get the wheels balanced correctly to eliminate a minor vibration. Main reason I traded it off was because I was scared something big was going to fail and I would be stuck with a massive repair like the AC compressor or transmission, money which I could save and use on a newer vehicle. Overall, a good car but I feel I made he right decision to trade it for my 2G. Amazing how yours has made it so far!!

500k that's amazing. I have 2007 TSX w/ A-Spec wheels and body kit, there is 215k on my body and probably 100k+ on the engine. Unfortunately my original engine's timing chain broke and I had to replace the engine. I figured I wouldn't be able to find as nice of a car for the price I could pay for a new engine ($4,000 parts & labor). Seeing this video makes me want to keep mine forever, even if I have to replace the engine a few more times.

Where can i buy that block? I have the same back ache! Great car! I had a 2006 model for about 10 years. Not one issue
@clymerscarport9616 жыл бұрын
It's just a yoga block. You can get them at Walmart or most retail stores & pretty cheap! I was going to a Chiro for a little while for the problem, but it wasn't until I also saw an acupressure massage therapist who found my outer thigh muscles were bunching up on the right leg. She worked out the knots & I soaked in a hot tub with epson salt & baking soda those nights. I went for 3 weeks. The muscles were pulling my hip out of whack which was the root of my back pain. So I would go get adjusted at the chiropractor and my wadded-up muscles in my leg would pull the adjustments right back out of whack. The 3rd week, of getting my legs worked on, I'd go see the chiropractor afterwards. After two more weeks of seeing both, my back pain was completely gone. And now that I know the root cause of it I haven't had back pain since!

what have you done to keep your headlights clear and not oxidized?
@clymerscarport9618 жыл бұрын
I used a repair kit on them. Sanded them down, polished & resealed. It was a McGuires kit I think. Came with a buffing wheel that goes in power drill. Very handy after all the sanding! tsxtravels.com/2013/10/06/mods-reconditioning/ it also helps the look of the headlights by crashing your car & needing to replace them! LOL

My RSX just turned over 240k. It's running great, but rust has taken over the undercarriage and body due to 14 salty winters. I've been told the timing chain is good for 300k on the K series 4 banger, or when it gets noisy. When did you replace yours ?

Congrats Rasheem on buying a fantastic car! I have always put 91 octane/premium gas. Except for that one summer when gas went to $5 a gallon. Then I would dip into the medium grade every other fill up. But that only lasted a few months.

Why my 07 tsx breaks a lot from 100k-220k miles. Replaced 2 starters, an alternator, power steering pump, a strut, rack and pinion(expensive), control arm, ac system(expensive), replaced valve cover gasket. now driver door lock actuator is broken.
@jasonm38714 жыл бұрын
Troy Truong I’ve gone through a lot of those same things over the last few years. Even though it seems like a lot, nothing you listed is really too far out of the norm for a car of this age/mileage. I’d say the steering rack is the only one that would bother me (rest are pretty diy’able).
@troytruong82464 жыл бұрын
Jason M i understand what you are saying. Most average joe dont have time and know how to diy. Tsx is a fun nice car but it breaks. V6 hondas and acuras are better than 4cyl. Toyota and lexus are trouble free up to 200k+ miles most cases.

Give it to your son!! I think that would be the best idea man, spend time with him working on it and keeping it in good condition. Teach him how to drive it around an age you see fit (I would don't around 12 or 13 personally maybe younger depending on if and when I have a child if I believe they're ready). Eventually this way you will be able to see it hit a million miles (hopefully). I read on the internet that a man (original owner by the way) owned a 92 or 93 I believe Honda Accord that had over a MILLION miles on it, I think it was a million 16 to be exact, the mileage actually rolled over from 999,999 back to 0. He turned it into a Honda dealership and they gave him a BRAND NEW ACCORD! Hey ya never know, you said it yourself that you live near a good Acura dealership, maybe if this happens they would do the same. Especially with you being a very good customer for a long time, and time to come. Passing car down to your son, then turning it in with it's original motor, tranny etc, after hitting a million miles. I think they'd do it man. That's just my idea though.
