The 'wind shear attack' on Emily actually did do something: It kept her from being even stronger (and likely kept Emily from being the fourth storm that year with 175mph+ maximum sustained winds). As for Bret teasing Texas, that's a reference to 1999, when Bret smacked Texas as a 145mph C4, yet barely did any damage due to it's incredibly small size and hitting an area with very few people in it. Flo's remark about 2004? Both true AND false: Ivan looped around and hit Florida after, like Dennis, initially missing and hitting Alabama instead.
