Hello Great video. My problem is a bit different a message came up saying please take load off steering and the car would not start. but the steering did not lock like it normally does. Instead when I put in key I hear the noise like it wants to unlock but twice. This was happening with the mmi screen coming on and the date signal on the dash coming on. After seeing on an Audi forum a post to turn steering wheel 180 degrees with foot on the brakes and try to start. Did this but to no avail. Unfortunatly now the mmi not coming on and no date signal on dash but still noise like it is trying to unlock but twice. any advise?

Hi, I followed the steps and managed to clear some codes and the car started, I cut the power to this device. Now I'm wondering if this malfunction will happen again that the car does not want to start? Did you have the same problems later?

Hi, if you cut the red/black wire you ok. You will never have that issue ever.

i keep getting message on dash ''ignition lock defective'' , will it cure if cut the wire, as sometimes car is ''dead'' when insert key and cant start until try more and more times...

Dont cut wires is car is dead. It needs to be vut when you get ignition on. Only solution is take out steering lock now.

Hello, so I did everything accordingly and the car still won’t pull the codes, some modules it is able to reach and others it can’t reach. Could the steering lock actuator have failed? I know it can get stuck and clearing codes can fix it and unlock it but since I’m not able to pull the codes then I’m guessing it failed and I need to replace it. Any help would be great thanks

Flash the high beam 3 times and you can reed the foult and reset it !

Put lights on, step on the breaks and switch high beams. And try to read faults now.

Manually power 7th fuse on the driver side with +12v and then try to read and reset codes.
