Nice Video. I have a 2007 A6 Avant, a year ago I clipped the RED wire to prevent the J518 Start Access Module from ever Locking the Steering Column ever again (saw this done on another YT Video). Recently it's been acting up. Hasn't always started with the Start Button but might Start with the Key, it died once today on my wife 7 miles away, she said the Cluster Lit Up like a Christmas Tree, lost Power Assisted Steering, I drove to her, swapped vehicles and drove it home, after arriving home, it wouldn't restart (No Crank / No Lights on the Cluster) period, afer it sat a while it started fine and I moved it. I swapped out the Starter Relay with 373 Printed on top (under the Driver's Dash behind the Knee Bar with another "old" 40 Amp Relay I had in my Tool Box) and it's been starting fine with both the Start Buttonor the Key (haven't driven it much since). If it doesn't happen again? I will assume that replacing the 373 Relay fixed it? If it occurs again I would think that possibly the Relay inside the J518 Start Access Module may require replacement? What are your thoughts? FYI, I'm a Retired Professional Wrench, I've replaced 3 Complete Steering Columns in my career at the Dealership under Warranty back in the day on early A6 / C6 Audi's (they weren't Intermittent, they were locked up, no lights, nobody home). Randy AKA randog311 Problem reoccured with me driving and experiencing the dieing issue first hand (No Engine DTC's / I didn'thave my VCDS Scan Tool and Laptop availablethis afternoon), I (unlike my wife) attempted to restart it, No dash Lights (Key On Lights) and No Crank, I returned about 45 minutes later, started right up and drove it home. In doing some more Keyword searches I came across a post on a Forum, ECM Relay (Located in the Right Plenum under the hood ahead of the Windshield). Tomorrow afternoon I will tear into the Weatherproof Box and possibly replace this ECM / or Terminal 15 Relay that was eluding me (Location). I'm Praying that this will fix the issue. Update: There were No Relays in the Box with the ECM as someone had suggested in another Post. I ended up replacing the 70 Amp Relay (top left to the right of a large Orange 40 Amp Fuse) under the driver's side Dash, road tested about 25 Miles (Previously wouldn't have made it 11 Miles), so far so good

@@t5tuned705 its not the fuse its the 3 switch in the module and the relay :) i just ordered my kit on ebay hope it arrives soon

Sveiks! Там до полного надо ещё вымывать уголь из моторчика. На одной да раза снимал ELV. Первый раз для замены комплекта 1055 и 512, второй раз для промывки коллектора. Теперь сразу делаю и то и другое за раз ))

got mine repaired on a Phaeton, now car starts everything ok BUT steering wheel wont lock also no steering lock sound. is it ok?
