At 5:23 that first washer I put on is backwards. Please note the instructions that comes with the shocks in regards to the hardware orientation.

I think you actually had it right the first time @5:23 into the video. I’m in the process of doing the job now and when I flip that first silver covered washer piece the other way, the included nut doesn’t have enough room to thread onto the top bolt. And I checked the diagram in the included paperwork and I think you had it right the first time.

Cool. Thanks for the response. Just out of curiosity, how many miles do you have on the Mighty Buick now? I just bought a 2003 Buick LeSabre with 55,000 original miles on it for $3,000. I’m in the process of doing the rear shock conversion now bc the air compressor is on the fritz and i just want regular shocks without the worry of future air shock problems. Have you had to do any other work on your Buick? I’m also thinking of getting rid of the Dexicool and switching over to normal antifreeze. Thanks again. Just sub’d to your channel.

Thanks for watching Ron. Yep with 130k its probably time to change them out at again. Honestly in my opinion, if your pump is still working fine. I'm at 120k miles on my 2000 Park Ave. Guess this is coming next for me. When I fill the gas tank up, I hear that compressor wanting to run for 30 seconds or so every time I get in the car and start it up. My front struts are squeaking now, too. Everything is going on this car at once for me. Sounds like if I don't do something about the rear shocks soon... I'm going to burn my pump out. Pump is still fairly quiet for the time being. But now winter is here. And things love to tear up in the winter lol.

@@HowIDoItFaM Thank you haha.. the only reason I even said that was because of your and another's comments under this vid. I can't even think that far ahead lol.. just replaced the alternator and battery 4 weeks ago, then within 2 weeks, my car was cutting out while driving and dying when pulling out from a stop. Got the codes pulled and it was the MAF sensor. Put that on around 5 days ago. Then 2 nights ago, it was 22F and I left my car running when I went into a gas station for cigs, came back out and the check engine light was on. Great lol. Not sure what this light is, yet. The MAF would only turn the light on occasionally, then the light would turn right back off. However, I did put gas in yesterday and when I took the gas cap off, it like "popped" off. Never had it do that. Hoping that is the cause of the current check engine light. Not sure WHY the lid wanted to pop off like that, though... Could it be that I park my car in my basement? It's 70 degrees F down there (it's just the "downstairs" of my house, but it's a basement). It's heated/cooled by the heat and air pump. Maybe that drastic change in temp... caused something? First time I've noticed this happening. Car has been in the family for 20 years. And with all this coming at me, I need to be preventative and do something with these shocks. They aren't an imminent thing, at least. But... they will be.

Good advice with which air shock connector not to mess with. Nice vid all around. subbed. Think $7,700 too much for a 2003 Park Ave Ultra from Ohio rust belt with 77K on it? overall nice with some rusty bolts underneath probably garaged. Sounds $$$ to me but interior looks nice and dealer service report it checks out pretty good with minor intake manifold leak, 'nothing urgent'. They're known for that, maybe I can do it myself. Air compressor decision in that location looks like it was planned to fail.
@HowIDoItFaM Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and thanks for the sub... Yea man $7700 sounds kind of crazy even for an ultra. The Ultras are hard to find down south, but those regular park aves of that era go for no more than 3000 for a clean one.

If the compressor still works, a pair of Monroe air shocks for these Park Avenues is around $80 for a pair of direct fit shocks.
