Ok, job done as you showed on your video and my 2003 PArk Avenue A/C module now lights up like brand new. There were 4 resistors that had come loose from the heat they generated. There is a brown color on the board by the resistors indicating high heat. All is well again. Thank you Bill!

Excellent job! I've got a 1999 LeSabre and had a 1990 and a 1991 Park Ave., Climate control unit is what I miss the most. Prefer the pre-2000s as I'm not a fan of the digital look, but that is a very nice car! Caught your rear strut replacement with the standard shocks, I've got the front struts but not sure about the rears.

@HowIDoItFaM
@HowIDoItFaM 2 жыл бұрын
Shiiiid Im not going to lie, I wasn't the most optimistic about it at first. After looking at the piece I realized that most of trimming had to be done on the lip portion. Kinda hard to explain, but you'll see what I'm talking about when you take that trim piece off.

I wish I had seen this sooner.... I tapped so hard on the front of the unit (to get the display back) that it cracked the face plate. But it's not too noticeable. I doubt that just the plastic face is replaceable (or even available if it is). Now I have a project for this afternoon. :^)

@@HowIDoItFaM I ended up making it into a bigger project because I decided to get new resistors. So I unsoldered the old ones, and ended up messing up some traces and pads on the back side of the board, so had to figure out how to "hard wire" the new resistors. It looks awful, but it works! Nice, bright display again.

Cut and splice the first part of this video and you can make another video replacing lights/or stepper motors on the speedometer cluster panel. Replace lights with OEM or colored bulbs and replace stepper motors as all Buicks have one or more of the speedometer, heat or fuel gauges don't work right. Good video on fixing the heater display. Thanks.

Metra Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Interface a.co/d/7aicyJ7 This is the one I used. The controls aren't perfect, meaning that the buttons don't match for the function. The main controls that you will need are there though, volume up & down and previous and next track.

Funny thing about these Buicks is that they are reliably unreliable. The known issues happen at such similar mileages like clockwork. There's certainly things that aren't perfect about them, but you can almost always see it coming by paying attention to when the forums/youtubers say they are having that particular issue.
@HowIDoItFaM
@HowIDoItFaM Жыл бұрын
Crazy as it sounds it's a good thing from a mechanics prospective ( already knowing what's wrong) . Like you said Just like a clock work certain things are going to fail. Coolant elbows, window motors, display, coil packs... How have you been fam? I thought about you the other day. I just hit 1000 subs and thought about about doing a give away. Thought to myself "where is Adam on route". You were one of my first subs.
