Tom is a very informative man on his work, but he explains why he did what he did to his Roadster in understandable language for the average man or woman to make since of it all and I have to thank him for that and his love for the SSR.I have got a 2004 Chevy SSR in my garage that has been setting for about one and a half years now and I have been trying to get it running again so I can get out there and enjoy it again. I am cleaning up the fuel from the tank so it system will start.I didn't put any stabilizer in the tank and I didn't think about what it would do and the process of getting all that bad fuel cleaned out of the system components. Upon the process of doing so I have had lots of problems come up.As they say,"Live and Learn ",and I have done that. Thanks Tom for your help and hopefully I'll get it back on the road again. Its worth it's weight in gold to me and I love mine.I was surprised to find that when I bought mine that it had the 5.3 L V8 Vortec engine and the power that it had. I will be looking forward to more videos.God bless you and yours and stay safe. Sincerely, William Lair

Thanks so much for this and your dad's story. I found one in Texas and it's a 2005, and it's a stick shift. Which I see is rare. 6 speed stick and the engine looks like it has a custom silver racing checker flag cover on it? I say custom, but I don't know yet. I am trying to get hold of the ppl who have it on Gurus. It's ironic to me because it could be from the factory and it says "CORVETTE" in black on the sides and you guys just talked about that on your dad's Lol It might be just cosmetic, I am dying to talk to someone about it. It's a cover but, not like any Covettes I've seen, so it's likely custom. It's gorgeous. It does say it's the 6.0 LS? It's sliver too which I find the best of all the colors. It looks like a 40's concept Rat Truck. I am loving finding them below 30K. I appreciate what your dad was going for I really do. Wish I had the money and energy. I'm getting one because the most fun I've ever had driving was an old international with a 350 open header, stick LOL....of course LOL...and because this kind of fun is dying and dead now really. I don't understand what GM is thinking anymore. I was thinking Camaro but, everyone has those. It makes me very sad. Sad enough to buy a ridiculous truck LOL...thanks again gentlemen, hopefully it's available.

I own the 2003 and I love it, if I had a bigger garage, I would start looking for the 2005-6 manual 6 speed trannie that would be exciting! This was a very interesting video, thanks!

5:00 pm (good information , I have a 2004 ssr and I'm having trouble with my top letting back, each time I try to let it down it reads (tlat halt fault) haven't had it checked out yet by a qualified technician. Just checking to see if you have any information on it thanks.

There is no possible way this thing makes 600whp from just a mild cam, stock LS7 heads and intake on an LS2. It won't even make 600 at the crank. I guarantee this thing doesn't make any more than 450hp at the wheels. I don't know if he's lying or just ill-informed, but when talking to a real car guy, you gotta brush up on your facts. The 03-04 SSR didn't come with a "350", it came with a 5.3L - which is technically 325 cu. in.

Thank you, Dwight! He is not. He has sold the SSR since making this video so he could build a 53 Corvette.

Entertaining Video Tom, some of the information on the SSR close but not quite correct. SSRFanatic.com is the bible of the SSR.
