Great tip advising to removing the fan assembly from the radiator so that it will give a lot more hand room to loosen the transmission hoses from and reconnect to the new radiator. Certain details I saw in this video but, not a few others I've seen to help a novice to do a successful job on a Toyota Corolla. Right after I saw this video, I finally had the guts to change mine, and I did it! Thank you Greenos Family Garage!

Also, did you keep the fan switch off but set the temp to heat to fill the heater core?
@antpart79983 жыл бұрын
Squeeze the big rad hose while ticking over to rapidly purge air or air-locks in the system. Watch your temperature gauge whilst driving for the first time for abnormal higher coolant temps, this means you have an air-lock you need to purge.

@@GreenosGarage one last question is that the transmission fluid. Do u have to put more transmission fluid back in?. Thanks
@GreenosGarage4 жыл бұрын
@@diykhan you shouldn't have to, but i would check it. first check the level before you start the job to ensure you started with it full. here's a video on checking the level. www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2007_Toyota_Corolla_CE_1.8L_4_Cyl./transmission_fluid/check_fluid_level Then make sure to plug the transmission lines when you take them off the radiator so fluid will not drain. After you complete your install check the fluid level again. If it needs some add to full but do not overfill. If this is your only car you may want to purchase some of the correct fluid for the car, if it does not need any you can return the fluid. If it does you will have enough to fill it back up and not run the car with low transmission fluid. Odds are you won't need any, but it's important to be ready and know the status of fluids in your car. Thanks

Great video! Could u have used a screwdriver instead of a punch to stop the transmission fluid from leaking?

Any reason you didn't backflush the heater core and get that funk out of the system? Remove the thermostat so you don't have to wait for it to open up??

18:20 you put one hose for overflow but what is the other hose for with cap on reservoir? where it does go?
@vclamp4 жыл бұрын
It is the overflow for the overflow tank. It just dumps onto the ground in the rare case it would ever be used.

Does this work on a 2001 corolla?
@neilewing70256 жыл бұрын
changing out my radiator on my 93 Camry I ran into a problem with a senser you did not address on the 99 corolla, it broke, guy at parts house had no idea what its called but it appears to monitor transmission fluid temperature, need the name of it so I can find another one
@neilewing70256 жыл бұрын
you could email me the name of it at newing5150@gmail.com thanks

I dont remember any sensor on the carolla. That being said, just google a parts diagram and you should be able to find it or just call the dealership.

@7:06 what is the name of the tool you're using?

@@GreenosGarage Thanks for the video; as well as for your reply. It's very helpful. I had a hell of a time moving the clamp from its current position on the hose using a wrench; especially the clamp at the lower left compartment of the engine. I saw your video after the fact; and thought wow, that tool would have made the job so much easier. Thanks again, and sorry for the rambling.

@@forhisglory700 so what can help are hose hooks They are like picks that you slide under the hose and breaks the bond between the hose and the radiator neck.

Can you burp it without the funnel?
@AmritpalBharaj2 жыл бұрын
no spill funnel makes burping an easy clean job, I always use the extender tube to raise the highest point of cooling system to evacuate the air inside. Without that kit is kind of tough unless you find the right size funnel to jam into the filler neck. It is a must have to get a $20 kit
