2005 Dodge Ram 3500 axle shaft U-Joint replacement.

I’ve tossed a few things in the past. I actually lost a tool I threw and spent about an hour looking for it. I think It was in some other dimension for a while. Like when you look over and over and find it in the same spot you looked at 7 times and it’s just sitting there plain as day. 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨

I broke down and bought the ujoint pullers after this one. It’s not that it was too difficult to do with out them, it’s more an excuse to buy new tools. I’m interested to see how well they work.

Great video! I think you covered all the details on how to change the axle u-joint. You even mentioned the torque specs. Unfortunately there are way too many critics in the world today.

I hear what your saying, I usually put a jack stand under if I’m getting under the vehicle. I didn’t anticipate being to weak to torque the bolts without getting under there as far as I did. Thank you for the support.

I too check the bolt torque before loosing. That way I’m sure to replace it as tight. We’ve been enduring a heat wave here 106-108 for the past week with no end in site glad I don’t have to replace a u-joint. Thanks for the video.

That’s too hot for me, Low 70’s is more my range. When it gets in the 80’s and 90’s I don’t do too much.

The smaller caps are great, they fit right through the hole in the press. This one was a bit more cumbersome with the bigger caps on it, and the yoke not being flat.

I’m not sure exactly what your asking. Here are a few removers to get the hubs out of the knuckle. If the bolts are frozen in you can try and cut the heads off with a torch or cut the wheel bearing where the bolts go in with a tourch. That’s what I would do. I think the 2002 had a Dana 60 in it. This has an aam front axle.
