2005 ford focus sporadic instrument panel failure

Hi, if you're having problems with your ford focus instrument panel with all the lights coming on and the gauges not working some or all the time, take a look. Try taking the instrument panel cluster out and resolder the connection pins this is a common problem and what was wrong with mine.

My 05 Ford Focus had a similar problem but it turned out to be a water leak just above the computer in the passenger side cowl. We removed the water by placing a 120 volt heater on the floor of the passenger side overnight with one window cracked.

Mine has the same exact problem and when I touch the wires under my fuse box it comes back on

Although it could be another problem, the problem with mine is a common problem, and you could have the same problem sense it’s really common. The problem is where the wiring harness connects to the instrument panel in the dash, the connecting pins that are soldered to the circuit board, the soldering connections have corroded. Sometimes they work sometimes they don’t. All you need to do is take it a part which is not very hard and resolder the connecting pins. Good luck.

My 2004 focus stops working but if I disconnect the battery and reconnect it the cluster will work for 4 or 5 cycles and then stop working same as if I disconnect cluster and reconnect it!!!!

Try taking the instrument panel cluster out and resolder the connection pins this is a common problem and what was wrong with mine.
