Continuing my series I filmed in Roanoke over the past weekend, I drive a IAG tuned Subaru WRX Sti. It makes around 351 WHP and 360 foot pounds of torque. It was definitely a privilege driving this car after driving my friend Rodney's regular WRX of the same year with a Cobb tune. The car belong's to my friend Nathan who used to have a Hawk eye WRX, but says he will never go WRX ever again after owning this. Thanks for watching and like,comment,and subscribe!

+jaron buunk a 400whp STI has nothing in common with a GTR. And if you mean manual R35, it would be basically the polar fucking opposite. Read up on how different the AWD systems are.

When my 07 sti was still stage 2 I'd struggle to get above 14.5mpg in the city on 92 octane. My average fuel economy would be about 16.5-17mpg according to my AP. But, as David says, it's really all about the smiles per gallon!

Sti's have a Bypass valve not a blow off valve and they can usually handle around 20-24 lbs of boost.

Looking into a 2004 sti.. Had a 2004 wrx blew it up in a month.. This was when the car was 6 years old. The dealer that sold me the wrx gave me a job and in that one year all I seen was wrx with blown engines and trany's.. I own a lot of cars over the years and must say I spent more money on gas with that wrx then my 10 sec foxbody mustang.

I have an 04 wrx stage 2 with supporting mods making ~245AWHP/WTq, @ 70,000miles and my transmission shows no major signs of it having to be replaced. The sti is a handbuit racing gearbox which is without a doubt 100 times better and can handle stupid power (500whp easy) but IMO as long as you know how to actually drive a manual and you don't beat on it, you wouldn't have to worry about the 5 speed in a wrx blowing up :). my 2 cents.

Not a bad car once you go through the suspension especially the front end. Buddy of mine had his right A-arm, brakes, wheel and all come off taking a left turn at 15 mph. The suspension on 05s aren't torqued down right on these cars. At one point Subaru was actually selling a bag of pink STI washers to tighten everything up. Plus those useless heavy braces up front. Other than that, quick lightweight car.

Isn't the power loss through drivetrain just 15%?? So if this STI is 350hp then it would have around 400hp crank... not 500hp lol.

RWD is typically marked at 15%. AWD unfortunately is 25% on average. So 350 WHP on AWD, you can compare it more towards something 380-400 on FWD or RWD since he'll always have the dig. If that kinda makes sense. it's a good bit of power. Able to run low 12s into high 11s on a drag with a decent driver and a good 60ft His math is still off a little. More like 430-440 crank hp

The 5 speed is actually better for highway driving because it has a higher ratio for 5th gear than the STi's 6th gear.

I own an STi with an 18G Turbo as well. They loose about 20% power through the drivetrain. So 350 wheel is about 450 engine horsepower. My STi here in cali running 16.5 boost only makes 320whp on crappy 91 octane.Loads of fun but its a fuel dumpster smh. My accessport shows 2 MPG! under Boost.

Anyone know what's causing that flutter when on boost? I thought flutter was when you snap the throttle shut without a BOV, and the air is forced back onto the fins on the compressor wheel, so it shouldn't be happening on boost...

Get some money ready. Cause since you don't know much yet you'll be paying not only for the part but getting it installed too. For headers, and a downpipe and cat back, or a Turbo back, you're looking at 1000$ easy then to install it probably about another 500$

Okay, i am 19 and not getting any younger and i have a long list of dream cars that i want to own and drive but unfortunately financially its not coming along too great i mean i don't even have my own first car yet i'm still saving (so i tell my self) and ive been told after your like 25+ you grow out of wanting to go fast and modding cars and your priority changes and all you worry about is family and work. I don't want to lose my passion for cars when i haven't even driven or owned any of my dream cars yet what should i do? i'm need of some advice i am also currently in college and as you mentioned in this video you said your friend was also in college and already owned a wrx and now has a Sti (two of my dream cars)which price range is 10k+ so can someone please explain how i can achieve that before i start growing gray hairs btw i also have a part time job. (which is getting me no where) sorry for the long essay just looking for some motivation again, to be honest i want to be just like you going to car meets regularly and get to drive great cars just for the fun of it.

I got my 05 STi when I was 24. It was my favorite car ever since the first time I saw it and I just had to play the waiting game. My advice to you is don't do it until you are financially ready. It will happen when it's the right time.

I'm 52 and have owned 36 cars so far. I daily drive a 2013 Mustang GT, modded, and who knows what car is next. If you like cars you will always like cars. Different "life stages" may dictate what car you have but I think when you look back later in life your cars will be good memories. Happy motoring!
