I have a few 4th gen preludes. Been a prelude guy forever. I will most likely do a short lease on one to check it out. REALLY hoping for a type R variant down the road.

I love the preludes but i dont think honda did enough for this prelude. I think sales are going to be similar to the 400z where youll rarely see it even though its been out for almost 2yrs now. The fact it wont be making over 300hp or isnt fully mechanical engine or 6sp manual will cause them to not sell as much.

I absolutely love my 95 st. It has done everything I’ve ever wanted it to do and more. It’s the slowest thing on the road but damn it’s still fun. And god damn reliable. Pushing 260k miles and it’s fine. I sadly am going to get another car because I’m 6’5” and it’s just not built for me 😂. It has served me so well for 5 years and I owe my life to it. Idk if imma keep it or not after I get my new car but we’ll see

I don’t see why Honda is making this. It’s not going to be as good of an enthusiast car as a Civic Si, and assuming most hybrid buyers are looking for practicality, most will probably gravitate to the Civic Hybrid which, with the same powertrain, has more seating and storage. It’s doomed before even hitting the showroom floor. If it had a manual it might have its own niche, especially if it was the only hybrid manual transmission on the market. But I’m assuming the development costs for a new hybrid manual transmission are too much for them to justify it financially. Maybe they have something in the works and it’ll be available with a future facelift, but right now I don’t see many people buying this.

It's not a battery electric vehicle then forget it. Hybrids are nothing more than heavy gasoline motors. I'd rather have all the torque that you get with an EV and a small what these wine babies cry about is a small range. I'd happily plug in a Miata that's fully electric and only gets 100 miles every single day! The fact that I can absolutely pub stump Corvettes mustangs, and any other so-called sports car it is so worth it. I literally do that every single day with my Ford Lightning. Anybody who says anything bad I show that I can tow up to 10,000 lb almost 200 miles which is more than I want to drive in a day anyway. But more than that it's the 775 ft lb of torque that I used to destroy every single vehicle out here. My red light to red light is god mode. So for Honda to screw it up and make it a hybrid instead of a real absolute beauty of a sports car is on them. I'll be looking for the new Dodge two-door coupe that does 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds. Which competes with the plaid and the rally Mach e but it is only two doors.

i was holding out hope that it would have a manual option. as my first car was an 86 Prelude Si, they have a place in my heart. not completely sure how i feel about it, but at least it is a hybrid, not an EV...

If you took the floorplan of a fit and put this body on top I'd consider buying it way more than if it's a hybrid. I owned a 87, 93 and 1998 prelude they all had one thing in common. Not hybrids 😂

Needs a manual transmission ( I own 3 manual Hondas currently so Im speaking from experience).

If Honda had any sense in their heads, the new prelude would have a high output 4 no turbo standard and a turbo upgrade. All the hybrid does is add cost and puts this car over 30 grand.

It will be awesome. It's a good type of hybrid. Logical, efficient, adds power, adds torque, and hopefully has Honda reliability. Everything that makes owning a Honda special. But what will it cost? And when will they have a type s? How much will that cost? Should be playing similar to the new civic hybrid 200+HP. Under 2900lbs?
