35:36 "JJ Yeley, just a matter of time before that young man wins a race" Little did we know that 19 years later he would hold the record for the most NASCAR starts without ever winning a race.

The final Busch race at Pikes Peak :(

Yeah... you know Roger Penske bought ISC, if he really cared about restoring the tracks (Kinda like what Rockingham is going through right now), he’d have put THOUSANDS, of private money into renovation, and also would’ve bought the track from the cheapskate idiots that own the track... and I’d jump in my truck, in a heartbeat for a cross country trip to Pikes Peak...

Man its a shame nascar has a no compete clause, this track was/is badass

@davidpeters26253 жыл бұрын
Hopefully the Xfinity Series comes back, there within the next few years, It would sure beat one of the crappy Xfinity races at Pocono buy a long shot, could you imagine a fully renovated, as if it were brand spanking new, given the fact that MTJ won a championship for a team based in Denver? (R.I.P Furniture Row Racing, wish you were here)....
@Ndawg883 жыл бұрын
@@davidpeters2625 right! It would be so awesome. I’ve run laps on it, and it’s a fun track, needs safer barriers in order to host a top 3 series, but I mean even arca would be awesome. Start slowly bringing racing back

Fans supported this place, which makes it all the more baffling that ISC decided to shut it down. There isn't another big track in the whole time zone.

And IndyCar too? That would be the icing on the cake, cause every year both NASCAR and IndyCar raced at PPIR, tickets sold like hot cakes.. and knowing, that Furniture Row Racing won a cup series championship, a few years ago, based in Denver, it’d be insane to see how many people come there for a NASCAR and/or IndyCar Race... mind boggling
@tomdalfonzo99593 жыл бұрын
Two questions I have. Why did Pikes Peak shut down? Also, why did Pikes Peak never host a Cup race? The Cup Series in Colorado, though 91 miles from Denver, would be a good fan draw.

The best I can explain: Bully Smith of ISC bought the track and shut down the track, and it was revealed that Roger Penske wanted to build a track in Aurora, but that never did materialize…

It's an hour and a half south which is too far from Denver for the France family's liking. More than likely they will be running on the old Champ Car Street Course near Pepsi Center or whatever the Nuggets call it now.
