My lights went out on my radio too and some other lights too and I was able to track it down on the back of the radio harness there is a white/brwn wire or with brwn dots I took another wire and tap into the white and brwn wire and ground it to the metal base behind the radio and everything works now just in case

I’d expect juuuust at little bit faster performance navigating those menus but I guess it’s doable. Also the GPS speed hopping between 0mph and 1mph is a little janky. I haven’t checked these out lately but seems like a good deal for $299. I didn’t understand what you meant about teaching the steering wheel controls at all... nor the amp in the glove box deal..

For steering wheel controls you usually need to buy Metra Axxess ASWC-1 Universal Steering Wheel Control Interface. This unit allows you to get controls working without that accessory. As for the amp in glove box, I didnt get to removing old amp from behind glove box and mounting new one in its place.

You can buy many different units today that varies in cost from 150$ to 500$. From doing my research and personal experience xtrons and atoto are best options. You could prob find some other good ones. They all have comparability with backup cameras but you might have to get it separately. As for installation, I have no idea of the cost. Did it myself. Sorry

Smash Rugged it honestly depends on the unit that you get. Pros are you can get any app installed on the unit and customize the he'll out of it. I also have it connected to Hotspot, so it's completely standalone. Cons depend on the brand and specs of unit you get. Honestly android HU is better bang for the buck compared to pioneer, etc.

This is the one I have xtrons.com/double-din-android-10-octa-core-4gb-ram-32gb-rom-tb700l but I'd say look into atoto. Their screens seem to be better for bright summer days.

I have the same car....had a unit installed but didn't bypass the factory amp. It plays fine majority of the time then i may get in and it won't turn on. So I made an appt with installation tech.

Shelicia Dixon did you use one of those Metra tyto-01 amp turn on kits? At times they won't turn on the amp. So radio is on but you wont have sound. So you have to turn off the car and start it back up and it fixes it. Issue happens is when you turn key to on position without starting the car and from on if you start it, amp won't.

Andrew Lopez the head unit is not plug and play. As there was not much information online about it, I had to do a lot of research. But it's not a complicated process. It took me 2/3 days because I had to source parts to get it the way I wanted. If you get everything before the install it's 2-4h job depending on how you work. Make account on clublexus and create a thread. I can provide all the steps and things you will need. My Android unit is Xtons but I would also recommend atoto.

Still working great, no issues on my end. There are many newer units from Xtrons and atoto line now.

@@Ilkinandr17 thanks. Will have to look into that. Never got into the double din thing so never knew about all the different ones they make now. Just found out about Android and Apple carplay. Getting into it now because I got a SUV and the back up camera will help with lining up with my trailer. Thanks again and awesome video!
