awesome, perfect explanation of the two options for tightening up and further clarification from comments below of using teh adjustment hold with screwdriver thru drum good too! thank you

For the extra time to take caliper and rota off, given he was out of adjustment in cabin, it's worth the effort to check the brake shoes for wear, I have found a few times that shoes are near or at metal and need replacing, great video and better to show all parts of getting into drum components... I do agree under normal conditions, especially if you know when shoes were last done...

The hole in the brake disc/drum is the hole you use with a small flathead screwdriver to adjust the rear parking brake. Easier to adjust it while you're turning the dics/drum, then taking it off.

Can you show me a pic of the hole you’re talking about?
@brettdalling5702Ай бұрын
@@Omarantonelli He means the hole in face of rota just outside circular line of stud holes, it lines up with adjustment wheel on bottom where shoes meet... In the case of no adjustment remaining in cabin, was best to remove calipers and rota, just for inspection alone, also for shoe wear..

Just curious why you didn't leave the calipers on and adjust the "drum brakes" using the adjuster hole in the rotor? Thanks for showing us!

I wanted to know if the pads are still good, I wanted to know how tight they'll go and I couldn't rotate that nut

Thanks for taking the time. My parking brake has been shot since I bought it. I'm kind of scared to remove the rear rotors because the brake shoes likely need replacing.

You might need to take that risk...

See the hole in the disc? That's there to adjust the park brake with the disc on the hub.

Shouldn’t the wheel not turn if you have your parking brake on...

It shouldn't! Unless the parking brake doesn't hold well
