Yoooo!!! This look beautifu!!! How much does something like this cost???
@TheSubieSanctuary10 күн бұрын
@@fredastaire6156 pretty much just the time it takes plus materials. Each car is unique in what it needs for body work. Currently rate is $65/hr for conventional body work and $75/hr for cut and weld.

When you do custom pieces like below the gas cap, What thickness and which finish of sheet metal do you use? I don’t want to go too thin on my wrx but too thick it’s a pain to put in to shape. (You guys help me on my restoration of my bugeye wagon with you vids. Keep it up!)
@TheSubieSanctuary9 күн бұрын
I use 20g , same thickness as the oem sheet metal. Easy to shape and welds in nicely.

@keithhind51279 күн бұрын
Awesome work , how much would that roughly cost?
@TheSubieSanctuary9 күн бұрын
Hourly rate x 156 + $1500 in paint. Over $10k(can) after tax. However, if you brought your car tomorrow for same job it could be more or it could be less. Each car and its needs are unique in body work.

@@GrSTI would be about $8k material and labour, but each car is different. Some require more time, some require less. I figure we made good time on this car, not too much rust stuff to deal with, however the falling off clear coat did set us back a couple days in extra effort.

Cost of repair?
@TheSubieSanctuary11 күн бұрын
65-75/hr (can$) is our current rate plus cost of material/parts. Every car is different in terms of body work needed. If I have to quote a job or a car I actually just avoid the job entirely as I rather not cut corners to accommodate budgets or quotes. So I can be a rabbit hole for the real rusty guys.
