The internet is not ready, Subysanctuary. I can hear all the other local Subarus like 🙄 as you roll through with solid floor pans and strut towers. I like how you taped the plastic to the floor for a cleaner spray 🤘. I'm also stoked that you're driving it to shows. There are not many sports cars in Korea. They are almost all sedans and SUVs. Nowadays, clubs and other clubs are gradually forming after restoring cars from the 1990s and 1980s. But even in Japan or the U.S., these restoration cultures are developed a lot. I'm just jealous.
@TheSubieSanctuaryАй бұрын
It is always interesting to see how different cultures react to keeping the classic tuner cars going. Some places they are just daily traffic and some places they extinct almost
@user-ev4gk6qr3zАй бұрын
@TheSubieSanctuary That's right. Isn't it a difference in corporate perception? I have a question. Is it easy to get parts when restoring famous Japanese cars in the 90s and 2000s?(ex nissan skyline gtr series or Mazda rx7 or Toyota ae86 and so on)
@TheSubieSanctuaryАй бұрын
@@user-ev4gk6qr3z I find with the popular classic japanese cars that they are somewhat easy to get parts for compared to more off beat classic jdm cars. Only issue is the prices for getting parts for them and its really spread out in terms of places to obtain the parts. But i would say the popular classics do have pretty good support still!

@@bunsofsteeeel honestly Ive never seen an RA without the cage them in. I know they were not installed in factory but maybe something that was installed at dealer? Would actually love to know
@bunsofsteeeelАй бұрын
@@TheSubieSanctuary that’s funny because I’ve never seen that many ra’s with cages, I owned a Sti ra that didn’t have a cage that was a version 2, I believe it was a factory option in Japan for ra models to be fitted with a cage
@TheSubieSanctuaryАй бұрын
@@bunsofsteeeel yes good point, its only been the v2’s ive seen but cant recall the status of the sti ra’s vs the wrx ra’s. The wrx ra’s were even more stripped down then the sti’s so maybe they were more destined to be off the lot and into racing. Dean at type-ra.com would definitely know the origins of the caged early ra’s

Beautiful restoration but you went through all that just to have NO underbody protection?
@TheSubieSanctuaryАй бұрын
Type ra’s never came with any under coating. Thats what makes them special. Compared to original it has 2 coats of epoxy then red paint. Under normal circumstances it will never rust unless dragged over rocks or something to get down to metal
Doesn't type RA's have roof scoops like the type r? Also I am personally restoring a 2000 SF5 FORESTER STI type 1. I'd love to know where you source your parts especially for a Japanese exclusive car.
@TheSubieSanctuaryАй бұрын
This is a wrx Ra, not and sti Ra. The wrx was the same drivetrain as the sti but the wrx was more stripped done. (Lighter) I got the parts from all over the world really. @@TheSubieSanctuary incredible information!!! And thank you for the interesting site!
@TheSubieSanctuaryАй бұрын
@@mr.smoosh1998 tricky to navigate the site sometimes but found a few needed things on it. Another interesting tip I found is: if you find the part number for some jdm specific part. Honestly call your local dealer with the part number. I cant count how many parts they were able to get jdm parts for me. Even if the part comes up no applicable model or not in warehouse. Subaru will send it from japan to north american warehouse. Ordered more stuff this week, takes like 3 weeks to come in but subaru pays the shipping 😉
