One of the best 2l.engines in the world....I saw in Germany one unit with the original engine and 530.000 kms. This is almost crazy for a petrol engine....Toyota of course...good video Joe!!!

i heard the 1az 2 liter petrol unit has masive problems with the head bolt threads wearing out and causing complete engine failure around 300 000 km, which is pretty bad considering it s a toyota engine. is this problem common on most 1az s or just a few cases?

@@alexandru.g8746 I'm afraid I can't answer to you properly because I'm not the owner of one of these cars. Only saw one of them with 530.000 kms and talking with the owner, he commented to me that the engine was the original and he hadn't suffered any serious breakdown on all the time with the car.

Previous model 2 liter is very reliable too, 3S-FE. Had the same engine on my Camry 480k km and now on -00 Avensis. These engines can last over 600 000 with basic maintanence. And about crazy; I have seen 1.6 petrol Carina ll's with over 640 000 km and 670 000 km 😀

Nice video. The Toyota Avensis Wagon (Estate) is build (as far as i know) in Britain (Year 2003-2008/9). Very reliable car, i drive myself one, also a 2.0 liter VVTI petrol. It is a 5-speed Manual and not a 6-speed manual. I also have a check engine light.,sometimes on and sometimes off. Does not mean much (mostly). A lot of older Toyota cars have that problem. And what i have heard also some Lexus models (a mechanic man told me). You can read them out what the error code is. These cars can grow very old, but check always the oil because of the risk of oil consumption, due to piston rings. The Toyota Avensis Wagon (Estate) is a beauty and driving it is a joy.

The car didn't turn out well during acceleration, it could do better haha, here in Chile the Toyota Avensis is little known and undervalued, it's an incredible car, I have one and it's incredible how mine drives from 0-100 in 9 seconds and it is a 2.0 vvt-i gasoline engine. You are very wrong my friend is 9l per 100km in the city and 7.4 mixed if this is a lot for 2l petrol car i don't know what to say!i have one for 7 years using it as a taxi driver with over 300k miles (not km) and i just change oils and filter nothing more
