My son just picked up a 2004 with 85,000 miles on it. He just sent me a text telling me he got on it 3/4 throttle at 40mph and was very surprised how good it sounded. I was curious so I started searching videos and thanks to your review I found out how good it sounded!

I finally brought one 3 months ago.2006 front wheel drive V6, 139,000 miles for $6200. I put some 2009 Highlander wheels on her "Misty Blue" and it changed the look entirely. I love it even more now and it is fast too. You sure do get some good cars. Keep them coming I watch all the time. Thx

Looking at a 2004 limited AWD 137,000 miles. Internet special for $4995. Checked out the Carfax and it looks good 2 owners. Cloth seats but clean. Silver, no spoiler though. I like the spoiler. I also have a Silver 2003 Sequoia 147,000 and a Silver 2011 Camry 58,000. I love Toyota's and this video helped me out tremendously, thank you so much...

My grandpa owns a toyota highlander from 03 and it also is a very good car. Although it does not have a 3rd row for a 2003 model but the features on that car other than that are exactly the same as this one

Question: If your Highlander is a front or 2 wheel drive, what is the ECT Snow button for? I'm looking for a 4 wheel or all wheel but the 2 wheels are cheaper. I'm wondering how is it in the snow and rain? Thank You
@pnp88492 жыл бұрын
All Toyota ECT button is to disable overdrive and converter lock-up. This help to keep rpm high for going up hill or tow.
@MikeKayK Жыл бұрын
ECT Snow will start the car in 2nd gear and blunt throttle response to minimize chance of wheelspin in snow.

What’s your take on a 2006 Highlander v6 looks clean with 140k miles for $6,989 posted price. It’s in a used car dealership in California and I interested in getting it. How much do you think I should try to haggle down? Thanks for your videos any advice will be definitely appreciated.

I'm looking at a 2005 highlander limited with 148k, they're asking $7,800 for it but that seems a little steep to me. what do you think?
@JoesGoldenGarage4 жыл бұрын
Hans Moleman they are very expensive on the dealer lots. I am a dealer and bought this one for around 4400 or so. But it would retail for a lot more. It’s all about condition. The inside of mine is amazingly flawless. But the exterior has scratches and a couple small dents. I don’t believe it was garaged. So that’s the trade off
@rolandroland14854 жыл бұрын
Hans Moleman dont do it, it’s too much keep shopping. I got mine 1 year ago with 75k miles on it for 8800$ ( financed ) which I regret today just based on the price. The car it self has been amazing. I had to finance because I didn’t have enough cash in hand. I will tell you this 65-80k don’t go go more than 5500-6200, 95-110k don’t go past 6500-7000$ if you are financing ! Private owner you can get them ( 20001-2007 ) for 3500-5500 ( 75-95k miles ) 5500-6500 ( 55k-78k $ )

Do they make these with timing chains i dont wanna mess with timming belts
@JoesGoldenGarage4 жыл бұрын
dude hi I think in 07-08. They went to a chain. And lots more horsepower!
@Datsun77054 жыл бұрын
get an 08 or newer because they have the 2GR engine with a timing chain and around 268 horsepower
@glitterkittensreid50794 жыл бұрын
Only 4 cylinders from that era had timing chains. The 3.3 V6 had timing belts that needed service after so many miles.
@glitterkittensreid50794 жыл бұрын
Also they had a 5 speed on the 2005 V6 3.3 litre I believe.
@joepearlzz8504Ай бұрын
I think the 3.3 is more reliable than the early years of the 3.5L

Is 5k for a 2005 limited with 220k miles a fair deal? I know they last, but not sure how they do after the 250k mile mark.
@JoesGoldenGarage3 жыл бұрын
They still sell for 3-3500 at auction with those miles. I would pay 5K for one with that mileage as long as I know the service history. A fresh timing belt should be on it. Original owner mint condition kind of situation
@R38483 жыл бұрын
@@JoesGoldenGarage yeah, I checked the carfax and it was always serviced by dealerships until its 3rd owner. It looks in good condition, but from 170k to 200k there's no service information for it. Gonna go test drive it today and get a mechanic friend to see it.

When I see the 3.3 liter engine in any Toyota product I run away as fast as I can, great engine but they are always attached to the confused mind of its own 5 speed sloppy transmission. The 4 speed that was used with the older 3.0 is fantastic and shifts super smooth. Wish they still made them.
