Saw this video and wish my job went as smoothly as you show in your video haha! First, the Axle Nut was seized and I had to hit it with a torch for 5mins straight before using a crazy long extension to break that puppy loose. Second problem was the inner part of the cv axle that connects to the diff was locked in place and took some pry bar magic to break that loose. All in all, if I prepared for things to go wrong I would’ve done fine. Fairly easy job, just can be mildly frustrating.

I have see a video where they take off the brake caliper and rotor when doing this but watching you do it I'm assuming that step is not necessary?

Hey bro I have a cuestion. I have a 2000 tundra with a 2.5 level rancho struts. I have the same problems with the cv axle shaft can I install the oem or it has to an extended ones??

No idea gotta check with dealer for fitment. Toyota likes to change small things through out years. 04 and 05 trucks are completely different

You need ones with more travel for a lifted vehicle. Big mistake people make when lifting trucks

Is it bad to just yank the cv axle out? I just gave it a pull a few times and it came out.

If it's bad then shouldn't matter. But if your reusing it then bad idea. The ball bearings can fall out of the cage and come apart inside. Gotta rebuild it then.

Heard those ball joint bolts were one time use. I'd suggest replacing those as well with original Toyota bolts. These trucks have issues with ball joints as it is, also use only original Toyota ball joints.

No reason to disconnect the caliper. Just move it to the side
